Besides, there is also the issue of CB, a 3rd job skill, now looking infinitely more impressive than Blast, a 4th job skill.

The delay of CB has never changed; it has always been 810.

Actually, Power Guard has been blocking 1/1s since Chaos; however, back then it was only able to block the 1/1 attacks that were considered physical like the one Zakum used, while the 1/1 attacks used by bosses like Manon and Griffey could only be blocked by Achilles. So Paladins are actually able to keep a much larger chunk of their health than Heroes can when hit with a 1/1 attack.

yeah and on bosses. power guard only has half of its affect. meaning 25%+ achillies for paladins and 15% for heros. which is pretty much what achillies did at max per ascetion. sorry Dark knights. atleast u got liek 3 healing skills =D

I could have swore PG had 100% effect since BB patch rather than a penalty of 50%.
3 healing skills maybe, however not as reliable compared to Achilles effect.
Dragon Wisdom - requires you to attack and % chance it works
Aura of the Beholder - 500 HP ever 4 seconds (Helps but not exactly reliable as its only 500 HP and at every 4 seconds.)
Revenge of the Beholder - requires you to be hit since HP Leech is based on it's "Counter Attack" damage.
The least they could do is give us 10% Achilles effect. Every other Warrior has it except us. (excluding Dawn Warrior of course)

I couldn't understand why, after Chaos, Zakum's 1/1 was leaving me with so much HP.

Pre-Ascension, which was the last time I did a Pap run, when I got 1/1'd with PG up I was left with ~25% of the HP I had before the attack. Definitely not half. My Achilles was/is at 5, so it's not having as much of an effect as PG was.

Power Guard blocks 50% of the taken damage.
Half of 50% is 25%.
So, while I thank you for your contribution, I'm a little terrified at your conclusion.

Dont know much about Drks to tell if those healing skills are trashy or good.
Besides the only place where talking about major screwage by 1/1 attacks is in a boss that have PotCooldown bullshit (Aka Empress), because lolpots exist for the other bosses.

Considering that up until recently Heroes only got to keep 15% of their HP when 1/1'ed, and did just fine at bosses, I think 30% (max Power Reflection) should be sufficient. Only disadvantage is that PR can run out or be dispelled, while Achilles is passive.

Well i don't think 1/1s are actually a threat at empress. The bigger threat with her is taking a hit you cannot avoid or survive so often. 1/1 is deadlier at CHT/czak where you have seduce and maybe pot lock thrown in imo.

Aaaand the assasin branch gets to be screwed once again versus an archer. Not only because we will keep having trouble with 1/1, but also because all 1/1 attacks deal way less with dark flare too. The only use it had in the damn first place.

I have a hero in KMS, and I just stated the fact, that the absorbsion and reflection of damage is there to stay, thus Achillies built into Power Guard.

The "mechanic" in that sentence threw me off, thought you were talking about the mechanic class.
Also this 1/1 power guard mechanic (The bit about reflecting magical attacks and 1/1 attacks) i believe as been around since chaos but was futher refined in jump/ascencion.
