People being hacked since the last Server Check.
Both my accounts are missing a lot of mesos, all my 17 day rings, 3rd guest belts, my Drk is missing a 137 atk pinaka.. Earrings, other rings, all the general crap. Oddly left all my other chars alone, just the main one, so I can salvage some, but this is rather dissapointing. I haven't played in several months and just logged on for Ascention to find this. Considering I have been playing since 2006 and haven't ever been hacked before, I'm rather saddened by all that. All well, thank goodness for other games.

He can read the thread while banned, he just can't continue his derisive 'contributions'.

So nice to come back to game after a month just to see my main was hacked. Top, gloves and 136 att crushed skull were gone. Nothing else was taken and i found myself in the FM. Well, like i was coming back anyway.

Just came back today after a month of hiatus and my Bishop was hacked. =/
Lost my scrolled VIP Wand...
Strangely all of my other chars were left alone, only my main was stripped.
Been playing for 5 years and never had this happen before to me, what a surprise...

I really wish a lead on this case would pop up
we still don't know what has been causing this :\

And we very likely never will.

Okiesmokie Wrote:So knock it off with all this bullpomegranate about some amazing hackers who are able to read the Nexon database and hack all of your accounts. Pay attention to what the pineapple you download, and exercise at least a minimal amount of caution, and you won't get "hacked."
Okiesmokie Wrote:Just because they aren't playing Maplestory doesn't mean they're not visiting Maplestory related websites, or downloading programs. As for the common sense thing: People never admit to downloading keyloggers. Every person who's been hacked is a saint and has never touched any "bad websites" or malicious programs in their lives. The truth is that is a load of bullpomegranate and everyone knows it.

So I guess my sister's account getting hacked a couple years ago, because of the Sleepywood "Admin Hack", never actually happened and she clearly downloaded a keylogger. Right...

More in-depth; One of the SW admin accounts got hacked into, a couple years ago, and he got a hold of everyone's registered emails, mine of which was a temp email for one of my sisters' Maple accounts. The hacker got into my email and got into her account by requesting password and PIN resets. Mind you, she was one of the hundreds / thousands that got hacked from this incident.

But of course seeing as Smokie only assumes the user is at fault for getting hacked, I guess the whole incident never actually happened and I "keylogged" myself purposely just to get my sister hacked.

This reaps of "Denial" and even I'm terrible at detecting it.

So, guess the hacking epidemic has come to an end? I haven't seen a "hacked thread" in a good while now (one week).

Maybe, or maybe people here are tired of talking about it and given up hope that Nexon will fix it.
On Nexon forum, final page of stickied rant thread:

Oct 5: "My account was hacked 2 days ago. "
today "...since on Oct. 3rd my accounts got hacked "
today "Just got hacked, I thought this was solved....
also someone just stated a new 'just got hacked" thread there

Oh well, I'll just keep locking my account every now and then, then. :\ Thanks for the info.

-Hime- Wrote:I think the bottom line is some players had their accounts compromised and we're finishing up on how to help these players.

We don't have the most amazing security like some top secret project but we follow industry standards. Passwords are not saved on our severs and login information is encrypted and passed through HTTPS.

"bottom line"
So, as far as Nexon is concerned, it's all over. All that remains is to decide whether to give these people 10k Maple Points or keep their tickets open for a couple years with the false hope of restoring their actual items.

Don't worry guys, I've been assured that though they continue to experience high ticket volumes, my issue will be resolved and I am important to them. I'm sure any day now I'll log on and see it's all fixed. -_-

lol maybe they should do something above industry standards huh i betcha the standards they have are pretty darn low

Notice they never specified what industry.
For all we know they consider "free to play games with almost non-existent security and zero customer support" to be an industry unto itself.

What Hime is saying is that it's not a server vulnerability thats allowing hackers to steal information, but rather its your own fault for being phished/keylogged.

We know quite well what she's saying.
And that it's highly unlikely for many of the hackings.

Hime should consider a job as a rape counselor in the south; She's got the 'accuse the victim' part down to a tee.
