Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
Connor Wrote:Wow just had one of those games where it's like everything just goes wrong. I was Jarvan and would miss a kill by one hit, or my q was JUST out of range of my e to pull myself, etc...eventually team gets fed up and I get blamed. So obviously I turret hug and farm and my team just doesn't understand that since two of the enemies are ahead a couple kills they shouldn't rush in and engage them so by the end of it one person afks and we surrender.
Funny thing is by the end of it I had the most farm and second LEAST deaths. People don't understand the concept of adjusting to the situation. Just aggravating.

Oww I can't stand this either when teammates are like WHO FED BRAND? Yeah, okay I'm sorry I lost my lane but that doesn't give you the right to be a complete blind man and go 1vs1 brand when you can see perfectly well what his items are. They then proceed to rage on me more for their own mistakes. Ofcourse this is the typical rager guy and doesn't occur THAT often to me, but it's still annoying. Another annoying thing is people who keep saying IT'S LOST IT'S LOST IT'S LOST IT'S LOST. It's never fucking lost. For all we know their most fed member might dc giving us a huge advantage and as long as your nexus towers stand you can still put up a fight pretty well. And even then healing up at the fountain so easily is a great advantage as well. I understand 0-30 games are usually not that hopeful but I really hate it when 1 lane loses, while the other 2 win and then they keep saying that....
Can't be worse then people bitching about someone dying 1-2 times in their lane and then getting called a "Feeder".
Son, I know what feeding is and that is FAR from feeding.
derp.
Dark Link Wrote:Was posted on my WoW guild forums back in Nov, 2009. It still works as of today.

My first impression was skepticism. After a bit of googling, here's what I found:

Quote:Setting the TcpAckFrequency may improve your apparent ping but will not improve your actual network speed. If anything, it may make it worse by increasing the number of actual packets being transmitted by your machine for the same amount of data.

When a computer connects to another computer using TCP it performs what is known as the TCP Three-way Handshake. what happens is this:

1. Client computer sends a SYN (synchronize) packet to the server computer
2. Server computer sends a SYN-ACK (SYN-acknowledged) packet to the client computer
3. Client computer sends a final ACK (ACK acknowledged packet to the server computer.

Thus begins the TCP connection.

All these SYN, SYN-ACK, and ACK packets carry no actual data. The Windows network stack, since Windows 2000 has, by default, only responded to every other TCP SYN packet unless additional data packets are not received within a specific period of time (per RFC-1122). This reduces the total number of non-data packets that must be sent. Changing the referenced registry value to 1 will cause Windows to respond to every SYN packet, thus doubling the TCP overhead for a connection. While this will likely improve the "ping" rating you get in online games (since it takes a SYN packet less time to be ACKed) it will not increase the actual speeds of data transfer but reduce it.

I guess if illusions make you happier, then go for it. But without any actual knowledge of the networking schemes and protocols that LoL uses, I can't say if this would help or hurt you. What this definitely does is lower response times between server and client (default response time window is 200 ms), thus lowering latency. If you have plenty of bandwidth to throw around, then this shouldn't hurt to try out.

People are also complaining that it doesn't work with W7. lulz.
Herp.

I was skeptic at first too so I searched and found what you found, then noticed it was reversible and tried it anyway. Thing is the file I was supposed to search was in 4 of the folders instead of one, this might actually be related to the complaints about it not working on windows 7.
Darkmaniak Wrote:Played a game where the enemy team got carried entirely by akali, no one else had kills until she had around 17 kills. She confessed it was her first pre season game and she was 1850 elo before. I checked her profile and she had gold banner and it was his first win in ranked now only.

I dislike this system. I played a beast alistar and lost anyway because of her.

I find that the first couple games of the new season you shouldn't play supports/tanks, because the team you are given has such a huge skill level gap.

We lost pretty soundly to their fed Tryn but I led the team. Gotta pay attention to where I am in team fights (story of my life) and land my Qs and Ws.

And on the subject of smartcasting, just set it up for the first time with Cass' E. A must.

Very satisfying and challenging champ. Will be playing all week. To the horror and despair of everyone on my team.

What makes her challenging? I play her as my main ap caster and I'm not sure what people think is so hard about her :/

Maybe it has something to do with my learning speed

I've found my favorite thing to do in Dominion is play tanks/tanky things and defend points.

Pretty much a direct contrast to how I am in SR, where I'm godawful at support and haven't liked any of the tanks I've played.
I'm kinda pineappleed for dominion until they triple nasus' q-gain (dominion only)
Though renek's cool.
Play someone else on Dominion! I don't really like my usual SR champs there.

Amumu is my most hated thing to play on SR but I love him on Dominion. Makes little sense. :S

I tried Kog, and THAT ULT IS SO GOOD FOR INTERRUPTS

Easily one of the best defenders IMO, can infinitely interrupt captures from a safe range.

Warning: they did let me solo farm, and they did have a leaver.
Holy molly purple 2.1k PS? I call shenanigans Sad my best record is 1.9k

I don't even remember why I did so well. All I did was walk between top, middle and bot.

You should try flat mana regen runes, the scaling gones are better past level 7 and you already have chalice by then and the mana regen provided by the runes will not be as necessary.

Eh, challenging in the same way I find Gragas challenging (someone I feel pretty good about). Not floppy in my hands, but it's gonna take more than a few games to get the flow of things down.
Man, Lifesteal/Spellvamp is so fucking OP in dominion, i hate when jax goes with a double Hextech Revolver X.X
Purplefire44 Wrote:I don't even remember why I did so well. All I did was walk between top, middle and bot.

My best record was 1891 in 20 minutes. That was a 24 minute game.

You get extra points for playing defender and tower diving, and even more points if you do so with other people. I'm assuming that's what happened.

Spellvamp on Revolvers is now unique.
KajitiSouls Wrote:Spellvamp on Revolvers is now unique.

To other revolvers, but gunblade spellvamp stacks.
And hextech gives a ridicolously amount of Damage both magical and Physical too.
Spell vamp already has a -20% debuff on Dominion..
