Yeah, I know prices are deflating, but I'm planning to sell it around December so that the prices will inflate again. Eventually, people will use those Mastery Books, and the only ones remaining will be the ones from HornTail.

My opinion based on facts is

- Gen30 is rapidly decreasing. Bello price is 300~400m now instead of 500~550

- If you can use gen30, i suggest buying them now

- If you're a merchanter or want some extra cash, buy them now or cash in the crystals for the books now opposed to november. Once this settles down, prices will stabalize and supply will be constant again, instead of this sharp increase in supply

"Prices will Stabalize" "Pirate Skillbooks will sell for a bunch" arent those pretty big assumptions? I mean, if you look at overall trend of dam near everything in FM, with the exception of iTCG items there is a general downward trend. Sure ilbis used to be 10 mil and are now 18 in khaini, but i remember last year they were 30. Skillbooks are the same. The more time HTers go, the higher supply. Since skillbooks fail, but skillbooks also work at least half, if not more of the time, the number demanded fluctuates between how many new bishops get to the level they'd need it at and how many have already passed it. Since bishops are a bandwagon class and a quick leveling class, the number of new bishops does increase, but not that dramatically compared to when 4th job first came out. Plus, many go to runs already if they are above 16x, thus getting free mastery books. So the general trend for the Gen 30 would be downward, even though there may be spikes in prices from time to time.

Meanwhile, pirate books wont likely be in high demand, since getting to 4th job takes a while, followed by adjusting you're build to NEED higher level skills. And even though they will be a bandwagon class, it wont be that bad in 4th job, because at least 2/3rds of the pirate population will give up. And at least half of those who remain arent the intense grinding types who will hit level 120 in a month or two. And even then, you have a skillbook that is rare, for a class that the number 20 spot will likely still be a third-jobber by that time. And thats across the servers in my opinion. So you'd have like 3 people on your server who would need it within a month. And thats for time leap mastery book? Im sorry, but quite frankly anyone WITH level 20 time leap is getting into HT runs for the extra Rez they allow.

tl;dr? Gen books will likely go down in price, even after event ends. And pirate skillbooks will likely not become higly sought after until 2 months later, when many pirates will be 4th job, and by then HT drops will even out market.

My opinion, get Gen 30 now, sell now, thank me later when you see prices drop.

What I meant was, gen30 is drastically going down in price, due to the sharp increase in supply. Once the event is over, the supply will go back to primarily coming from HT runs. It will always go down or stay around the same, it just won't drastically go down again, which is the same thing as stabalizing.

And yes, I don't believe pirate books will be much. Pirates are heavily over-rated and most people will quit them before getting them to a decent level where they are useful/a decent class. Once all the hype is gone, they'll probably be around the middle on popularity of classes to choose from.

Too late, I got my Genesis 30. I really hope I did the right thing.

Yes you did, i would just suggest selling it now, as opposed to december, because HTers will still be going on runs, there will still be a supply, its likely not going to be worth more later then it is now.

I really don't understand the MS economy either, it's weird how Ilbies was like 30m a couple months back iirc, now they are near 20m or less... yet, C-ilbis are STILL at the same price, if not slightly higher.

IMO, if C-ilbies goes up, logic would be that Ilbies should go up too. <_< -shrugs- Even though Shards + Naricain Jewels could go up, which would make C-ilbies go up too, I suppose..

However, with cristal ilbies being an iTCG item, and that set already sold, there isn't new income.

On the other hand, ilbis are dropped by many stuff, included wolf spiders... And the hermit hype cooled down now. That means: More ilbies for less hermits. Price drop. But the Cristal ones won't drop, because there's no more...

Ilibis, and everything else really, also dropped because of that time of year.

I strongly suggest getting an item which is impossible to get outside of the event. I only found out about the Maple Chair yesterday, but that's what I am shooting for. I understand it's just a chair; but it is probably not going to be available again. Mesos will get you valuable stuff, but even something like a 15 attack workglove is something you can eventually get by doing APQ, merchanting, etc. To the best of my knowledge, to get a Gen 30 from event you need to do the event map for a long time. You might not get a chance to get the other things if you're shooting for it.

Of course, if you want mesos, you're really best off with Genesis 30 because it's valuable. I have to caution you that the prices of that book (as well as other Horntail skillbooks) is steadily DEFLATING. TT30, Gen30, Bliz30, Berserk30 and MW20 are rare and valuable, but a lot of people are getting them by participating in Horntail. With each Khainian that passes one, the demand decreases and so does the price. People say that clerics are common, but meso-rich lvl 130 Bishops are NOT common. To the best of my knowledge the books in question are still valuable as they are because there is cross-server trading going on. If they are not that needed in Khaini, you server change a mule with it and a bunch of stuff to Scania and sell it for Scania prices.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm kinda upset I got Genesis 30 and didn't get a Necomimi / New chair.

I thought I could make like 500mil with it, but now I can barely make 400m.

Next time, those two will be my only goals.

I dont think you should regret getting Gen 30 if its the Necomini you're worried about as that's tradeable/sellable, meaning with your gene money, you can probably buy it.

Moon chair? Im not going to argue with that. Just hope the same prizes are up in November or something.

Then again, Im not really in any position to talk. I was able to get a Gene 30 AND a moonstar chair and have over 500 left for next month... For me the debate was the leaf chair and Gene 30, in which I chose Gen as I needed mesos (I sold it at 475 when they were worth over 500 just to get the money fast before it deflates).

As for a new reward list next month, from a completely biased standpoint, I wouldnt be surprised if they stuck 110 weapons in there but that's coming from a person who needs to scroll a 100/110 bow x_X

Either way, you've gotten your Gen 30. Its too late to go back on that now. Just move on and stop thinking about the what ifs.

I'm in the same position as well. I fell asleep yesterday and missed FOUR runs. I'm so pissed cuz I wasn't able to get the chair and now I have spare tickets... Frown
However, I don't feel at all regretful that I got Gen 30.

The logic behind this for you math folks out there:

  1. Every two days, I buy two 5-ticket sets and a 2x drop card. (I do it at 10pm so that the 2x will last me 2 hours each on both days.) This means it will cost me 5100 NX every two days, or 2550 NX per day.
  2. Thus, since the event was out for 13 days, I paid 5100 NX six times (for 12 days), and 3300 NX for the last day.
  3. Which costed me a total of 5100 x 6 + 3300 = 33,900 NX.
  4. To obtain my NX, I spend 5 mil on 60% glove att scrolls and resell in MTS for 1090 NX each.
  5. Thus, my total cost in mesos is 33,900 / 1090 = 31 glove att scrolls
  6. Which is 165 mil.

So don't be disappointed. You made at least 235mil (you said 400m) from this event.

With that kind of money, I was able to afford myself the Lv 103 fire staff that I would otherwise never be able to obtain.

Next year, these Maple Chairs are going to be more expensive than Genesis 30 or any skillbook really.

There are a lot of rich collectors out there...

Both chairs are untradeable. Please find out about what you're saying before you say it.

I think it's a fair error to make. Some chairs ARE tradeable, such as the Palm Beach one in FM. A person who hasn't gotten one of the new ones but knows about its rarity could think that the new chairs are salable.
