Post ascension Bishop build

Hi guys, new here. Im a lvl 171 bishop, almost lvl 172. And i have 35 sp saved up for the 2 new 4th job skills Arcane Ames and Adv Bless.

My question is which is more usefull. Obviously i can max one right away, but i really want to know which one will make the biggest difference in my dmg out put and make training easier. Arcane ames, allows me to do more dmg the more i hit enemies, which is really usefull on boss type monsters such as stronghold/LHC/monsterpark BUT its a % chance for the increase. Bless gives more matk, and gives hp/mp which helps in survivability at hardcore enemies in stronghold. I realize getting the 20/30 books for them is gonna be a nightmare, but just want some opinions on what to max 1st between the two.

Last question, divine shield. Does the cooldown start once you activate the skill or when it ends?

You keep talking about Stronghold. Stronghold is no longer full of Bosses in Ascension. The mobs are normal mobs with the appropriate amount of HP and Exp for their level.

Personally, i am going with Adv Bless before Arcane Aim on my bishop.

Well thanks. So that means parties can train virtually damage free since there is a 10sec window between uses. 20sec duration 30sec cooldown. Unless of course you take 10hits in that 20sec span (of which i normally dont)

I thought the same thing at first but it turns out the cooldown is 90 sec. Also when the skill is on there doesn't seem to be any delay between 'guards'. So if you have a bunch of enemies attacking you at once it goes guardguardguardguard, ect rather than guard..1 sec..guard..1sec. It only has the 1 sec delay between guards on touch damage.

Adding to this, the 30 second time limit is how long you have to wait before the holy magic shell effect can be recasted on a party, so if you have another bishop, it won't work until after that 30 seconds is up.

Wouldn't Advanced Bless be demanded more by a party through? If that is the case, then I believe Adv. Bless has a higher priority to be maxed than Arcane Aim.

Well.. if you're a bishop that's a buff mule then go adv bless.

Personally I've been wanting to take off points from HS to add to holy arrow for when I do balrog pq.

About mastery books, I think you will have a harder time buying Advance Bless than Arcane Aim. At least, in my world, Bishops only mastery books are 3 times more expensive than skills like Infinity and Mana Reflect (which are for all 3 mages).

If what you want is to attack, do this:

1 Res, 1 AR, 1 Genesis --> Max Buff Mastery --> Max Arcane Aim ---> Max Adv. Bless --> Max Angel Ray --> Max Res. --> Max Bahamut. (It also gives us 40% ele resist, which is good imo) --> Max Infinity --> Max Genesis --> Max Heros Will --> Whatever is left to Big Bang.

What actually is also good of Arcane Aim for LHC training is the 20% ignore monster def. This build should make you strong AND party Bishop.

Holy Magic Shell is a good skill imo, and of course it's a must max. The cooldown begins when the skill is activated, and another bishop in your party can't use it after 30 seconds, avoiding invincibility from having more than 1 bishop in party.

Also yeah, im a attack bishop, always have always will be. I cant stand the thought of being a mule. So i always attack when partying, im also a pretty strong bishop. So i think i might just do arcane 1st. Its just that extra hp/mp looks really good when it comes to survivability, 'specially with all these hard hitting bosses coming out.

As for the books. Im in Zenith O_O. Not many bishops in zenith (non-mules anyway), so i expect both books to be extremely rare and high priced. population is declining fast too, so...

Same. A Bishop without buffs isn't really anything; it's weaker than all other mages and it doesn't even have the buffs to compensate for that lack, so unless they are planning on soloing everything (at a slower pace than the other classes even if they are incredibly well geared) I don't see it being viable. I wouldn't tell them to take it quite as far as I did with mine (blood bishop, no real attacks or matk to use said attacks, 5K base HP at 145), but at least a Bishop should be sticking with healing/buffing and attacking as a far secondary...

If you want buffs then bring a buff mule. Everyone and their mom has one these days. Or find someone who plays a buff mule. If you tell me to heal you just so you can save a few pots I'll tell you to shove yourselves.

Well yeah I'm gonna be buffing with whatever buff skills I have. But when I have to make a decision about which skills to get first I'd get the one that increase my DPS the most just like everyone else. If that skill happens to be a party buff skill then great. If not then too bad.

Of course I'm gonna be healing before you die at empress. But if you're gonna let yourself die to save some pots at zak... lol you wouldn't believe the amount of retards out there that believe I should be healing instead of attacking even though my DPS is higher than theirs.

Which skills you get depends on which type of bishop you wish to play. Either one is fine.
