Lane Freezing, Pulling, and other Creep Manipulation

Lane freezing is the act of manipulating a free farm lane while you farm it so that it doesn’t push forward towards the enemy or back into your own tower. This is done by auto-attacking (if your lane needs more push to balance out) or attacking and denying your own creeps (if your lane needs more pull to balance out). It is best to freeze the lane near your tower where you can farm it indefinitely with a certain level of safety. This forces the other team to a. have less farm since that lane is locked down and they cannot farm it or b. organize a gank to kill you and prevent you from freezing the lane there. Never push a lane back to the enemy unless you have the specific intent to push and destroy enemy buildings, otherwise you are just giving your opponent more farm, as they will be able to farm that lane in the future, and you won’t.

It's easier on champs with skills that heal and shield. To get it set up.

You can't deny or damage your own creeps, but you can still do it in LoL. It usually means last hitting much later than normal too, I'm talking like a pixel of HP. ONLY FOR BOSSES.

On that note I'm taking a hiatus from LoL this weekend to play Battlefield 3. It probably will last 2 weekends, maybe 3 if I end up in the hospital due to lack of movement.

On another note: I had said in this thread a month or two ago that I would post jungling guides in SP (likely in my blog) in the near future for two of my favorite tank/tanky champs: Cho'Gath and Amumu. I'm not writing it to submit it to sites like Leaguecraft, Mobafire, etc; I'm only writing it for the SP LoL audience here, and it will stay this way.

Though bad news: schoolwork is starting to pile up, and I got lots of papers and exams due or coming up in 2 weeks. ETA: Unsure. FML. I'd like to get it done though. =\

tl;dr - real life is calling me to duty, which means I will likely not spend a lot of time on LoL from now on. And that ranked game I played on Friday still bothers me highly because of the shenanigans that was going on.

I don't understand the idiocy of people, in Dominion, who are like "Defend 3 points" and then they run off to assault a 4th base and proceed to have 1 or 2 of our points get capped. What's even more sad is the people who are saying this, I'm in Skype with them. For some reason they don't like arguing with me, so they say stupid pomegranate.

3 points wins you the game. The problem is people aren't defending and they end up running to cap ONE enemy tower while leaving TWO of ours open for free reign.

5 Points wins you the game faster. You only need to really watch Top and Bottom and ALWAYS try to have a high speed champion to rush to mid in the rare case they try to take it (And even then Reinforced Teleport with his snappy 4.5 secs give you enough speed).

Ill be honest, getting 3 tower and playing tower defense its nice and all, but i prefer the full ofensive style, when properly played you may end up Losing 1 tower, but gaining 2 instead. Its how about how you and your teammates move and your team composition, some champs are pretty good at defending towers in 2-3vs1 situations..

AND DAT RELIC, it gives you very nice advantage while defending or trying to capture.

Sometimes when Dominion matches get down to the wire, going defensive on the three points you hold is the best offense. In that scenario, you don't want to risk attempting to cap a 4th point, which will lead you to overextend, get killed, and leave the other point you were holding open for capture (and potentially giving the opposing team breathing room, or worse, turning the game around in favor of them). Or leaving other points open for capture.

I've seen this happen many times when my games go down to the wire. I simply tell the team to defend all of our allied points and just go on a "war of attrition" strategy. Most of the times, if my team is competent enough, we secure the victory.

I accept that strategy but only if the enemy is on low health since its apparent that they will become desperate to try and capture a tower, and sometimes while doing that they make mistakes.

I have seen my few games where my team takes the Defend Strategy, but usually by that point in the game (Remember the enemy has low Hp) the enemy will all come in groups of 4-5 to capture a single tower, sometimes i take that chance to capture a enemy unprotected tower to make their victory (Or defeat) in the tower they are trying to capture squat.

Heck Even if you don't manage to capture a tower, Neutralizing it (Define Neutralize as the act of turning the tower grey) is pretty good too!

Exactly, your strat is basically "Balls to the Wall 5 Cap", which offers no defense at all.

3-2 cap is the best option you have, unless you're completely steamrolling your opposition, then you COULD try a 4th cap.
Dominion is "Arathi Basin" in LoL. The only difference is it's 5v5, not 15v15, and even then, 3-2 cap is still the best option even in WoW.

What? If you are attacking the Enemy tower whats more likely? They come rushing over and try to stop you or they try to capture a tower?

Even if they do "Both" they wil have to split their forces to do so, And thats a major step depending on how they split themself. You should try to guess the enemy reaction and react accordingly, this isnt SR ffs where its "Everyone fucking stay near tower till level 6" or some crap like that, If you are only going to play defense you could end up losing because of that.

Thats the Beauty of dominion, Theres a whole fucking lots of ways to play it and none of them are bad, they just clash with each other.

But seriously i have been wreaked so bad by both (My last game was with a AS Kog with the Kitae Razors, dang that pomegranate hurted), that i could not say. Also my Exp with Kog its pretty limited (Only played once with him and i sucked).
