Just to play Level-5 trash? No thank you.

I love all the Studio Ghibli movies, but this look down right retarded. The creatures look more childish than in even My neighbour Totoro, but maybe they are catering to my 4 year old son more than they are too me? Beautiful world design though.

It's supposed to be a game for the whole family, yes, but it does have mature subject matter (it's about dealing with the death of his mother which was inadvertently caused by him.)

I honestly can't believe you'd say it looks RETARDED because it's child-like. That's what makes it amazing. It's not what you see every day and it has a beautiful balance between that fairytale quality and serious premise.

This looks neat, but to me it does not look like a game that makes an entire console worth buying. I'll have to see more videos of it to be sure though, thanks for bringing this to my attention!

And as already said, that is some really beautiful world design.

Gameplay looks kinda weird, but I haven't done any research on this game at all, so I don't know. But it's from the company that produced Professor Layton, so I'll wait for a NA release before I look into this more.

Excited, but I kinda would've liked the DS version more (and I feel bad for some friends who are really big Ghibli fans but don't have PS3s).

This looks like it belongs on the Gamecube...

Looks way too slow paced. Xenoblades really spoiled me trying to play other rpgs now >_>

Man you guys have no idea what a good game is. I'm disgusted. EVERYONE IS EXCITED ABOUT A RESKINNING OF FINAL FANTASY X and is SHRUGGING for this? I hope I'm being trolled, because this is unbelievable.

This came with the Japanese version of the game. I hope the NA version has this or something similar.

It should, because it's an important part of the game. You need to consult it at certain points.

Couldn't care less about FFX either, but the major things that went through my mind from watching your video is

-Loading screens between battles? Yuck. Moderatly long scenes at the start and end (somewhere between 25~30 seconds total for both) of battles on top of that? Hahaha no.
-The overworld looks empty. Granted they didn't show much of it and this may just be an empty area, but that didn't strike me as anything special. Maybe watching it on a hd tv would go some way to making it better as opposed to youtube.
-Game over screens? Thats' bad, especially if it wants you to go back and load your last save to continue.

And yes I am comparing this to xenoblade since I just finished putting in over 100 hours on that game, but if any of these thing shad found their way into xenoblade, it would have made the game worse, and now after having the game massively streamlined, I want these improved elements in all rpgs that I haven't yet played (Nostalgia for older games goes some way to helping deal with it in older games).

Ok thats a nice touch.

Ah, the PS3 version has the book too? I have less problems with it now.

Though I'm just really really hoping we don't end up with a crappy cheap version of it with only the essential information.

Not that excited about FFX either, but I am excited for this. I like the art direction, and my friends who've played the DS version have all told me that the game's story is great and enjoyable for both children and adults alike. I enjoy Level-5 games a lot so I'll definitely be picking this up once it releases.

I now hate you... Level-5 has made some of the best games I have every played, what do you hate about them?

OT: I agree with Sarah this game looks FANTASTIC... Although I have always liked games most people don't. Looks very story based(I mean it comes with a book that you have to consult at certain points in the game.) and I like that Smile

I'll try to elaborate then. When I say retarded I mean that the monsters themselves actually look like they are suffering from Down's syndrome or something. Compared to then Ghibli movies the design look childish and lackluster, and that dissapoints since we all know they can do so much better. I don't enjoy characters that looks like something my son does with water colors, unless it is actually done by a 4 year old and not a company that does this for a living. If the monsters just start out like little doodles and then evolve to creatures of a little more advanced design, I stand corrected.
(I might be somewhat biased too, because the battles slightly remind me of Pokemon, and by god I hate the franchise).
