I kind of feel bad for him, because he lost both of his games this week, 73 to 74 (me and another guy both had 74, didn't face each other). My league is very touchdown-driven (yards count for points, but if a player can score, they're worth way more), so a trade like that...eh. Hopefully Ray Rice has a breakout year for a change since McGahee won't be stealing the goal-line carries anymore.

Raven's win was expected when I think ravens I think how badly did the did their defense pineapple up an offense this week. Though their offense as well as their defense was on fire that game.

Im playing in standard leagues, so Brady got me 34 and Rice 26 while Brees had 21 and Peterson had 9, so I clearly won week 1, but we all know the season is a very long one. I like Rice this year because he has the league's best fullback in Vonta Neal (the guy who blocked for Foster last year) now, hence why I made the trade. I was hoping I'd draft in position 4/5 so I can grab em, but I kept drafting first or second, so I had no choice but to take Peterson (taking anyone else felt like a waste) and trying to trade him.

I like Rice too, but my dad has used him for the past two seasons (he took him again this year as well). Until I see more touchdowns out of him, I had no justifying taking him (our scoring makes touchdowns heavier towards points).
Threw in a free agent bid to pick up Cam Newton or Scott Chandler (Newton more as trade fodder as I'm sitting with Stafford/Romo). Considering which teams need a QB in my league though, I highly doubt I'll land him. ($100 fantasy dollars for the season, minimum bid is $5)

And I'm just worried about the defense in the event that Brady has an off game in a match that actually matters (Ex. Playoffs), though I'm sure the D will improve as the season progresses, like it did last year...I'm spoiled. I'm complaining about winning by 14 points instead of more while most other teams are trying their hardest to get wins. And that Falcons/Eagles game was pretty awesome. I was surprised at how well the Philly 3rd string played (and they had a chance to win too, if not for Maclin's drop).

There are only a few teams that I am legitimately concerned about the Patriots having problems with this season:
1.) Saints. You can't count out Drew Brees, and if anyone can go head to head with Brady in a scoring contest it's him. 2.) Lions. 3.) Ravens. 4.) Steelers. |
