Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread

Quote:Summoners!

Season One will conclude with our next scheduled downtime. We have some additional important updates for you!

We wanted to let you know we're updating our Season One reward tiers to better represent and reward the competitive gamers in the community. We think the new structure provides more players with a chance to achieve higher tiered status without compromising the exclusivity of each rank.

We made these adjustments based upon the percentage of our playerbase that we wanted to recognize at each tier.

The new ladder reward tiers are:

* Platinum (Top 0.2%) - 1900 and above (3v3: 1700+, pre-made 5v5: 1750+): a framed summoner icon in platinum, a platinum banner in summoner profile, a platinum forum badge and a special skin for Jarvan IV
* Gold (Top 3%) - Between 1520 and 1899 (3v3: 1490-1699, pre-made 5v5: 1500-1749) : a framed summoner icon in gold, a gold banner in your summoner profile, a gold forum badge and a special skin for Jarvan IV
* Silver (Top 10%) - Between 1400 and 1519 (3v3: 1410-1489, pre-made 5v5: 1410-1499) : a framed summoner icon in silver and a silver banner in your summoner profile
* Bronze (Top 25%) - Between 1249 and 1399 (3v3: 1249-1409, pre-made 5v5: 1249-1409) : a bronze banner in your summoner profile

As we enter Preseason Two, we will be performing a graduated reset of the League of Legends ladder based on player performance in Ladder Season One. The vast majority of players (97%) will have their Elo reset to between 1100 and 1300 rating, with top and bottom performers falling anywhere between 906 and 1490 rating. Ladder gains made during Preseason Two will carry over into Season Two once it begins.

Season One will conclude with our next scheduled downtime, so be sure to work on that ladder rank quickly!

Update: Even though we changed up our requirements to allow more summoners to achieve Platinum status, we haven’t forgotten those extremely high Elo players who’ve entered into the 2220 Elo echelon. In fact, no one will.

In addition to all the great awards Platinum players will receive, we’re creating a special section of the website to list the summoners whose Elo exceeded 2200 at the conclusion of the season!

Bolded to answer your question
God fk the lag-causing double post. >___>
You didn't answer the question. It will be with the next scheduled downtime, but does that mean there will be a downtime tomorrow even if there is no patch.

Likely no.

And then the amount of pissed off people rushing for Gold this past week swarms the LoL forums.

There's the old saying: "Better to get it done early than later!"
With Champion rotations, does the game go down? I can't see anywhere on the EUW website suggesting this |:

I'm kinda liking this week, though. I wanted to try Corki when I saw him, Fiddlesticks looked fun when I saw someone use him and Shaco & Katarina look cool I suppose.

Nah, it doesn't go down for rotations.

Kat is fun but is easily shut down. Main damage output is her ult and things like stuns or knockbacks stop it. Either you snowball with Kat and end up with Pentakills or you just get stopped the moment you ult and end up dead weight/actually dead.

I need a break from Lux, though Sad.

Managed to hit 600 AP with her today, lol.
Yay for corki week! Watch me fill my match history up with my favorite little hard carry.
Based on the timing of the Riven sneak peek, the next patch would be, at the latest, next Tuesday or so. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened this Thursday or something though.

Also: If Skarner never moves when he casts his ultimate, he'll auto-attack himself to death. No awards will be given for suicide, unlike the previous suicide glitch (Olaf).
Corki's fun. I bet he could have been deadly if I got all the items I needed |:.

Fiddlesticks is meh.

Ah yes, innocent naivete xD

You most likely haven't seen organized 5v5 team fights yet, but when that happens, it's not such a simple matter of farming up for you items and then going balls out on them. Typically when people build all damage, they are left vulnerable and squishy. And if you end up dying, those damage items aren't doing anyone anything.

To compare the expected dynamics of the game, the tank's job is to soak up damage, bait skills, and initiate on the other team. For this to happen he will need to be able to survive at least most of it (but preferably 130% of it). Considering the tank's stats, he would probably have 2.5-3k HP, 250+ Armor and MR. Average base stats for ranged DPS champs are roughly 1800 HP, 70 armor, and 30 MR. Compared to the tank, I'd say survival opportunities are looking very slim.

I'm not saying that itemizing all damage is necessarily a bad thing. You can definitely get away with it if you have superior position, map awareness, and they don't have any competent assassin champs (Akali will get you and kill you in 4 seconds flat). But sometimes in spite of your team's efforts, you'll probably suffer quite a bit of damage regardless.

Full itemization can happen at 40:00, but only if you're doing REALLY well. Getting there is obviously going to challenge you. Therefore I suggest looking at the early game and middle game qualities of the champions as well. Sometimes, there is no late game, because maybe you won't get a chance to get your foot in the door before then.

(Yes Corki does have high DPS.)
Ran out of internets untill the 10th or so, see you guys then!

I can still go on the forum, but not games
I find myself getting wrecked on Corki by any tanky dps with a gap closer. The smart ones are hellbent on killing me and the average normal queue team is not proficient at keeping people off me.

Teach me how to Poppy. Teach me, teach me how to Poppy.

Saw it on Reddit, but didn't think it was worth mentioning since you can't move in order for this bug to fully work. It's still pretty funny.

So I'm sitting at 6085 IP and thinking of buying Kog'Maw once I hit 6.3k because I could use another ranged carry other than Ashe and Tristana.
I've played him a couple times during his past free weeks but not enough to actually know how to use him properly. Read through a few guides to understand how his kit works and I'm just wondering if anyone experienced with Kog like Kaj could give me tips on item builds and rune setup.
Also, what is he a good counter for? I'm assuming tanky teams, especially a team with Singed, because of his ability to just melt hp off.

He eats through tanky champs like crazy.
