I'm fairly certain that I know things about this game. I have a decent elo that ranks me in the single digit percentile for LoL players.
ELO doesn't determine skill level, yet you seem to believe it does.
How's it feel getting carried to gold by Riot? Must feel pretty good, huh?
Quote:Tbh many of you are seriously misinformed about lots of things and I guess telling you guys otherwise is not a good idea if you're going to be so overly hostile about it.
Coming from the guy who said Singed is a monster at farming, yet using his main farming skill in lane is prohibited?
Also this "hostility" wouldn't happen if you didn't have this "I'm right and you're wrong, because my ELO says so." attitude.

Got sick of Annie Bot pretty much dominating everyone on my team so I bought Annie for some IP. She's pretty fun but not as OP as I thought.
The power of a champion is 80% dependent on the skill of the player. Case in point, I faceroll intermediate Annie Bot in mid lane with ANYONE, even the old Soraka.
Btw, Coop vs. AI teaches you bad habits. While it's okay to get used to the game with it for a bit, I suggest you start looking at more realistic engagements with other people via normal games.

Btw, IGN? :o

Trending in the forums right now: Singed too OP. Wat. Dyrus even speaks out on the forums about this too
Also....I'm hearing from a few people that Singed and Cho are now bans in the mid-ELO ranges (I never have thought once that they were ban material). What happened? Just curious
Kog'Maw counters Singed top lane? Fk yes! Reason I don't know this is because this matchup has never happened before, but I can see this working. (I also own Vayne, but I'm not as confident with her.)
As for the Singed and Cho bans, those were in recent memory. Having only played.... 12 ranked games recently, I've only seen them banned three times total.
Aynia Wrote:Mid elo bans are Soraka Orianna Brand Udyr Gangplank Amumum Mordekaiser.
This sounds a lot better xD Someone in the mid elo range also hates Fiddlesticks; I've seen him banned at least once.

I'm in EU West so I don't think I can play with anyone else, haha. I'd rather play with here with no lag than the American servers.
& year I kinda excepted every Champion under the control of a skilled person to be pro against me, it's just when I first played I thought me dying a lot was due to me being rubbish. Turns out everyone I've encountered finds Beginner AI hard.

Aynia, what is your ign btw?
And TBH I think WillDaSnail should deserve a higher elo than he currently is. Maybe if you land your bandage tosses more.

1) Elo is a fairly accurate determination of skill. I belong roughly in the 1500-1600 range. (Maybe 1700?) Why? Because I don't stomp peaches with scores like 20/5 every game here. If you're truly better than what your elo says, then you will absolutely gain rating over your games. Leavers/trolls or not, you will certainly stomp them. I've done it. Saintvicious has done it. bigfatjiji has done it. Everyone has.
Also, I never mentioned gold. Gold or not, I'm still in the top 3ish% of LoL players. Close to 5% if you count only those who are 1250+.
2) Common knowledge; you generally do not poison trail in lane. Oh you can argue certain situations. But over half the time, pushing Q is not the right choice.

Probably not tbh. Last time I played in 1100-1300 range on a friend's account, I was scoring 20/5/x scores on Akali consistently.
From what I can gather, he has a ways to go on building amumu (that and amumu is a common ban anyway) because he doesn't maximize on his eHP with the items he gets. LoL is a game of min maxing, though said min maxing will be different every game, there are simply two ways to build a champion. Optimally and sub optimally.
Pretty nice considering the account I was playing on was running 6 AD Reds and only 1 AP Quint for runes.

Hey, we all start somewhere =P
I believe there are at least two EU players that still post here from time to time, one of them being Eddikins.

It's all perspective. I don't mean to get up in his grill, but while Will is a solid player for normal queue, he doesn't have great map awareness, strategy, and adaptability. All he's played are jungling tanks, and the few champs he does play that don't fit this category, he suffers =( One case that has stuck out prominently to me is the player known as tictacs. Back in the day when Poppy was freshly released, he would be a high elo player who played Ashe exclusively, having over a thousand wins with her. Then when ranked came out... well, see for yourself.
If you play all kinds of champions, you'll quickly learn their weaknesses and what different kinds of mindsets there are. Most important of all, you'll realize all the different strategies and capabilities that come with the champs; what situations you can be aggressive, what situations you should gtfo, etc. So when the time comes for team coordination, you can pull off the awesome things in life. At the same time though you have to figure out what kind of mindsets and items your teammates are running, so you don't go down in an anti-climactic blaze of glory.

Truth. Back when elo was actually viewable by opening up your log files, my main and smurf accounts had nearly identical elo ratings. It was pretty damn amazing. Though if there's a problem with my comparison, it's that the people I encountered on my smurfs were generally not as knowledgeable, so they still fell to some of the old tricks I had up my sleevies. They made up for it in other ways though.

So far this week has been terrible in terms of matches. Bunch of leavers yesterday, and today starts off with my team who thinks it's a good idea to focus SINGED of all things. Needless to say I'm the only one who ended with a positive score. Can't do much when their Warwick has 10 kills and 1 death because the team is too focused on killing Singed.

The Arctic Warfare Cait skin is free with the next issue of PC Gamer if anyone wants it.
Dunno if its for Americans only, or if this is the only way to get the skin but yeah.

I'm in EU west too and I'd be happy to play a few games with you and learn you a few basics to start with if you'd like to. My IGN is the same as my forum ID. Any other people in EU west from southperry are welcome to add me to by the way. I've played around 500 games and my elo is 16xx so I know my way around the game. That aside, does anyone know when you get the jarvan skin for gold rating and how it works if you don't actually own the champion jarvan?

I'd assume it will unlock Jarvan for you as well as the skin, as that's what happens when you put in things like PAX codes.

Elo is pretty accurate. Just because you're stuck in elo hell at one point doesn't mean you'll stay there forever if you're better.
@myles: Elo is a rating that goes up or down depending on if you win or lose respectively. Your rating is only shown for ranked games, but there is also a rating in normal games that isn't visible.

Should definitely take up this offer; playing with other good players is the fastest way to pick up necessary skills.
Also yea, anytime you earn a skin through a promotion, the champion is automatically awarded.
Eg. Riot Tristana, Pax Codes, UFO Corki, etc.
