Almost positive that it's time related as long as my party kills him within 10mins he just sits there after that though and he starts summoning and warping people out of the map.

It's not time related. I did a three man Von Leon with inexperienced players. We were basically dying over and over again for the first thirty minutes. Finally, I stopped the other two guys and basically gave them the strategy of 'either everyone attacks non-stop or no one attacks at all' and we managed to glitch it and take it down just barely before the timer ended.

I've also been able to reproduce this glitch at Czak with two people, where we attacked it one at a time. Took a while to get the hang of it, but after the attacks synced together, it just sat there like a log.


I'm pretty sure it's either what I said before, or simply that the bosses don't "see" you when multiple people attack it.

I can see it as being "You don't EVER rebuff, unless you have Magic Guard" type of deal. Seems like the slightest attack stall from rebuffing can break the glitching and fix the boss. Sisters' and I will try this later to see if that was the case with us failing.

Well, if your magic guard has run out, it means you were in there way too long...

But no, we rebuff all the time, and my low-HP party mates even turn and run to avoid touch damage when under pot lock, and that doesn't (necessarily) break the glitch.

It's interesting how people say VL is faceroll, because anyone can kill him now, yet there's this 10min time limit, which limits the amount of people able to kill him by a large margin as 10min is a hefty amount of funding.

Now to ponder why Evans get a 300 second one whereas AMs get a 10 minute one. Hmm...Oh well.

I doubt 10 min is some kind of treshold actually. If it gets glitched it will stay that way if you poke it enough.
If you and your sisters need help, I have yet to get the card myself, and neither has my wife. A level 200 NL and 183 DrK should tip the scales.
