Von Leon
#1
I've been hearing several different explanations for why von leon glitches up, so what I want to know is what is it exactly? Is it how many people atking him, the attack he receives in 1 sec aka hurricane=8per sec or is it dpm?

3+ people in there attacking fairly consistently seems to do it for me. 2 people and it's not glitched. 3 people works though. They don't all have to be attacking at the same time either. If 3 are in and only 2 are attacking at a time while the other person is running away waiting for pot cd to wear off then attacking again while a dif person runs away seems to be fine. Haven't tried just bringing in a 3rd person as a mule and not having them attack though.

i tried it with 2 people only, it worked, until one had to rebuff and VL sneaked an attack, but as long as we kept him under fire he wouldn't do anything, 2+ people.

He doesn't seem to unglitch for me unless I go over 10-15 minutes in the run.

I may very well be spitting bullshit here, but this seems to make sense to me.

I've noticed that it's mostly bosses with multiple targetting auto-aggro that are glitched. Maybe it's only them, haven't really delved deep enough into it to find out.
This leads me to the conclusion that the glitch is that these bosses cannot target more than one person at a time, much like regular mobs. Although, there's still collateral damage to everyone else if it DOES attack.

So how does this glitch come about? I believe it's because when multiple people are attacking a boss, it gets stuck in limbo, can't decide WHICH character is hitting it, and just sits there, passing through different aggros for each person, but never having enough time to actually cast an attack.
This also explains why it works best with more people, as the transition between each person attacking is much quicker, and there's less of a chance for one person to attack the boss consecutively.

Why would it require targeting to summon mobs though? Von Leon's boss ticker would say he's summoning mobs but they never actually materialize.

Best I can assume is that either the notices are time-based, and show up when you lower it's HP a certain bit, or that the act of summoning mobs in itself counts as an "attack" and therefore he's stuck in limbo for that too.

Von Leon has a teleportation move where he teleports to the person doing the most damage (in my 6 runs, it's always been me), and the only time he successfully did that was when I tried to solo and later crashed from full spawn. Currently, if you have a bunch of people pounding on him, he'll teleport in place.

This is what I'd assume too - mob summons are based on some constant, and VL's stuck in some [seemingly] infinite loop on trying to attack and failing. The way it's being described it's almost like if it's being hit fast enough it's resetting him from "aggro'd and casting attack" to "just started aggro determining attack" or something. I don't know how they have it set up to determine how a boss chooses attacks, but that's the best guess I can come up with, that it's being knocked through the loops set up for that and can't get out unless players go slow enough to let it.

My 2 sisters' and I just tried VL tonight and we couldn't beat him. Whenever we would get him to around 35-40% HP he would summon the group of boar mobs, which would then cause him to become unglitched and start DRing + Mini Golem spamming to get back to full HP. We had to give up, because one of my sisters' crashed thus leading it to a 2man fight.

We doing something wrong or did Nexon kinda fix this?

But what about the previous posts saying they could glitch him with only 3 people, or even 2?

Glitch might be time related.

We had 4 peeps and he was glitched. However he may of been glitched since he was under my Phantom Imprint..then as soon as he jails me..and gets out of phantom imprint he unglitches and consumes the golems D:

sorry bro its not 5+

Locked Wrote:Glitch might be time related.

im 99% sure its not time related.

i do a 3 man run almost every day and from my observation most bosses that have auto agro can be glitched
when there are 2+ ppl attacking.
they stay in that state unless there's only 1 person that keeps attacking it at a time so pretty much when someone takes a second or two to rebuff they most likely unglitch. :S
usualy we are able to keep vl glitched 90% of the time on our runs (sometimes we rebuff at the same time so yah Confused he unglitch, and its the only time when boss starts to actually attack successfuly.)

(as i wrote its just my observation~)

ps if there are any spelling / grammar errors sorry english isnt my main language

The runs I have done with 4 people always glitch VL, but I can't seem to duo him or do it with 3 people. Our 3rd was not that funded so maybe not having enough dpm was the problem. Still working on getting a bow f3

Almost positive that it's time related as long as my party kills him within 10mins he just sits there after that though and he starts summoning and warping people out of the map.

There is only 1 answer!

back when i played MS, 2 people was enough. (That was like 1 week ago)
I went twice everyday with my friend.

It was always glitched.
And its hella fast. duoning on 17x just takes 5-10min or so lol its a joke nowadays

I've been on runs where he started summoning and DR'ing after 2 or 3 minutes.
It might be a combination of things: if there are too few or inattentive attackers, he gets ornery right off the bat. If there are enough, but they still don't finish the job in 10 minutes, he gets mad at that point.

I say too few *or inattentive* because I've never gone in with fewer than 4 people, and yet sometimes he still summons on us. Might be because someone is lagging, afk, or just taking their time attacking. Or might be something else I haven't yet identified.
