holy crap o_o

The plot thickens!

Wait no body expected him to be a Sub Shinigami? Even though he had the badge in like, the first chapter of the entire arc?

Anyways, it looks like Shinji's a Captain again.

And now he is on equal terms with Ichigo's new OP-ness.

Well this story sucks. We go through all that just for the head captain to ask for Ichigo's help against a sub-shina? He clearly was one, but now all that's been stated is:

"Were dependent on you Ichigo to fight this foe who is stronger than all the captains, thanks bro".

No.

1. I thought he stole ichigos badge tbh.
2. They said they tried to give their powers to a shinigami before and failed because of tsukihime, so I thout the badge was that shinigamis.
3.??? Am shocked I thouht it was too good to be true for Ichigo to actually murder him so easily.

Yea didn't see that coming, but I'm really glad that it did. If Ginjo just died right off the bat, I would have raged so hard for wasting my time reading this. Anyways, now it is pretty clear that Kubo is going to make this a decently long drawn-out fight with lots of talking and tedious back and forth fights. I still find the whole plot kind of stupid since it is Ichigo + a lot of the captains + urahara (who is a one man army) and his dad vs. Ginjo and Tsukishima (spelling f3). Pretty clear who is going to win this unless Kubo throws in another plot twist to try and make the baddies stronger than physically possible.

Plus the fact that when he stole Ichigo's power it showed a close up of his sword with a badge hanging from it while Ichigo was still holding on to his badge.

Anyway, I wonder how this is going to turn out.

Don't worry! Ginjo has just entered his Shinigami mode and that combined with his innate Human spirit powers AND Ichigo's stolen Human powers, He'll likely be super invincible. Then over grown with rage, he steals Tsukishima's abilities as well, making him overlords super human shinigami OP-ness. Then Ichigo with learn to fusion Shinigami hollow powers again and become More OP than the OP ginjo and win with a super Bankai that he used to finish Aizen, but will allow him to retain his super powers.

How does Tsukimhme inserting himself as an enemy in Ginjo's past make Ginjo forget he can go Super Saiyan 2 with Shinigami powers.

Yeah i was weirded out by that too. He was acting all desperate and stuff when ichigo was fake attacking him trying to run away and s'hit but if he could fuse sub-shini powers with his+ichigo's fullbrings why would he need to be scared? Just so he could surprise ichigo? That's just general anime bulls'hit and not really realistic.

Ha. It's funny because that is probably what is going to happen. LF> Ichigo to go Hollow-God Mode + Shinigami stuffs.

Bleach's plot in general is bullshit a lot of the time. "Should I kill you now? Nah. I'll just sit here and have a powerful battle with you until one of us pulls out some bullshit that reshapes the world in our favor." TIME TO TRANSCEND THE TRANSCENDING PEOPLE THAT JUST TRANSCENDED THOSE WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE STRONGEST PEOPLE IN THE UNIVERSE.

Inb4 2 months later when this fight ends and Ichigo goes and finds more really powerful people to fight.

Tsukushima inserted himself as an enemy in Ginjo's memories. From what I understood, Ginjo was lying the entire time, as Tsukushima can't replace or remove memories. So stealing Ichigo's fullbring was always on the agenda from the getgo, even before Tsukushima restored Ginjo's memories. The only difference is that before he had his memories back he was going through the "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of logic. In which case, he was using Ichigo to take care of Tsukushima. When he would get cut by Tsukushima, he would have the opportunity of getting an opening from Ichigo. Tsukushima said it himself, Ginjo's acting fell apart after he cut him again.

In the end, Ginjo was just toying with Ichigo and taking advantage of his weakness at the time. The whole arc itself is called the Missing Substitute Shinigami arc.

That honestly only makes sense now that we know it's referring to ginjo. I thought it was talking about ichigo in the beginning.

Kubo is actually really good at planning things out and writing a storyline. Not sure why everyone is always dissing him.

Sometimes he just makes the story lag a lot longer than necessary. He has a talent for this, I;ll give him that, but he should work on his timing a little more. 15+ chapters to do 1 boss fight is a little too long for some people, but rather enjoyable for others. But when the manga gets down to in this chapter, this character received a super power. In this chapter, the hero activates his trump card; in this chapter the trump card is powering up; in this chapter, the trump card is almost full power, but the enemy sees it and starts his counter offensive; in this chapter the enemy almost kills the hero.

versus

power up + counter attack in one chapter; insert savior+ delay tactic; Next chapter SUPA POWER ATTACK!

It doesn't have to be action action action, but it should go a little faster than action... talk... talk... talk... talk...talk...something happens... talk... action!... talk, etc.

Hm, fair enough. I feel like a lot doesn't live up to the expectations that Kubo sets for them, though. Superchunky was an incredible letdown, for instance, despite having hinted at its existence around the end of Soul Society arc. Wonderweiss was also another let down. He's usually got a few things planned despite the fact it feels like he's BSing most of the time- especially in this arc, but I do admit he's good at leaving hints and plot devices to expect to be of importance later in the story. He just has to be sure that he keeps that momentum when he finally does bring those elements back into the plot. He's been doing a good job with anything to do with the Royal Guard; and as for what else he might have in store, we still haven't found out what the two bodies Mayuri found in Syazel's storage mean.

Kubo is really bad at "powerlevels" and keeping track of them, in my opinion. The difference in strength as you went up the ranks of the Espada and the stronger fraccion become plain ridiculous compared to what seemed like achievements among the first few and the Privaron Espada. Ichigo's friends are really struggling to even be relevant.

He's also terrible at pacing. In addition to the reasons Worthyness said, how about the fact we spent several months watching people fight against the damn henchmen (Barragan's fraccion)? The portion of the cast who has to do shown one-on-one fights is just plain ridiculous.

These two x 1000. It's not that I dislike Bleach or Kubo, I just dislike how he wastes so much space in each chapter when more content could be fit in. It is annoying to read each weeks chapter when a lot of them leave me feeling like I didn't read more than 8 pages of content, when it was really more like 15.

As an artist though, he's pretty amazing. I think what he tries to do is make the full page panels and the double page panels make up for the lack of story progression. Though, I think that sort of formula is starting to get old.

He's got good character designs, but his characters are getting a lot more boring.

It's also worth complaining that powers in Bleach are getting stupid. Shishigawara's power of "probability" applied the probability in ridiculous ways, Riruka's dollhouse power is stupid, being able to store people in a PSP was lame too, and so forth. I also found Shunsui's Zanpakuto's ability to be stupid- the ability to turn children's games real. Basically, his sword has the power to make Yu-gi-oh-like Shadow Games. ...Yeah.

His art itself can get pretty good, but it's laden with so much blank space and really bland backgrounds. If we were to make a drinking game based on taking a drink every so and so square centimeters of blank space/plain backgrounds Kubo has, I imagine you'd be taking quite a number of drinks with this chapter alone.

I don't think it is fair to fault him on that. At least he is trying a different interesting power instead of "POWER UP NOW MY SWORD KILLS EVERYTHING IN ONE SLICE"
