GMS Server Status Discussion - < 2011-09-28

I got tired of waiting to be D/C'd so I just logged off.

Forgot the patch was happening today.
Darn Nexon and their never notifying in-game about stuff like this.

Level 78 and 92% on my final chaos warrior event run.
Got crit rings for my outlaw, battle mage, and eventual Mercedes, was working on my last mask.

There was a banner for it.

I was doing a zrun, finished maybe 2 mins before SC.
My exped was flipping a shit.
...so was I.

Huh. On my screen the banner was just saying "oh hey last day for all these CS things"

I was in the middle of a pvp game where I was kicking butt.
Damn. Another Server crash =/

Edit: Oh..I forgot there was a patch. There wasn't a banner up at the top though. All it said was something about CS items.

I was watching the status page as the servers went down and found something interesting.
Instead of taking all of the login servers down at once, Login Server A went down at about 8:03 PST.
Server B went down around 30 seconds later, then Server C went about a minute after B.
Then, about another minute and a half later, the game crashed.

They made the webpage even more ugly. :v

Edit: Rather, you now get two annoying splash screens every ****ing time you go there.

People d/c'd unevenly in my server, one buddy was in the middle of a convo with me and got d/c'd, but I stayed on for a minute or so after. Dunno about the rest of my alliance/BL.

Pretty meh patch, imo.
New pvp mode that'll be dominated by cheaters just like the others. (or in my server's case, completely ****ing dead already)
New quest line that unlocks a meso sink. (which for those of us not rolling in the mesos, is pretty damn useless (aside from that +2% exp ring, that sounds neat if hardly effective))
Monster book returns. (might be decent, I dunno what the set bonuses grant)

They sometimes forget some worlds to put a notice in. (Or, maybe they just said, EFF DAT. WE GON' BE LAZY)

Set bonuses are nice.

In Kradia, that message was replaced by "game update 8pm-6am" sometime during the evening. I only got on 15 minutes before update, and the patch notice was up.
However, I can easily believe that a lot of people never noticed that message. Nexon has successfully made us ignore the scrolling banner, by having it contain advertising and/or outdated notices 95% of the time.

I'm so torn between getting the flying mount skill right away, and waiting cautiously until whatever auto-bans it triggers are fixed.

If you want to get technical it's the world select server.
Does you no good if you can't login to get to it, just like does you no good if all the worlds and login servers are down but it isn't.
Gotta love multiple single points of failure / bottlenecks.
