modular Wrote:i realized my hero is in the same place, and i just leveled (i did mw->19 first though). combat mastery and enrage are my 2 options right now, and i have 5 mastery / 0 enrage. so i'm asking myself:

which one adds more damage per point?
mastery does. 4% vs 2% against anything you aren't already fully ignoring defense. ...what boss has low enough defense to warrant stopping speccing mastery and level enrage instead? pap, with 25% (pianus?). c/zak, ht, pb.. everything else pretty much all have 40+%. so combat mastery is always more useful at bosses, except pap.

why would i ever use enrage while training/hunting? focusing down a single mob when i should be hitting 3 is counterproductive.
what other situations are there...?

...combat mastery it is. 1 enrage next level, hooray level 1 skills!

You never fully ignore defense. With Max CM you ignore 40% of the monsters PDR. Not PDR up to 40%. So if a monsters has 100 you hit them like they have 60.

10 and you hit them like six. 20 and it's like 12. On trainable mobs it isn't really that noteable.

Edit: fixing a small derp.

Sorien Wrote:Paladins "can" have red attacks, but only when they're charged and using their basic swings against a box or something.

Paladin's only have the charged swings when they are attacking mobs or nothing at all. When a Paladin attacks a box or some other object that can be broken, then the swing has an uncharged animation, which is red if he has at least Level 5 ACB and a charge active.

Which type of weapon should I use? A one-handed sword, or a two-handed weapon?
Also, what's the difference between using axes and swords?

-Use a one-handed weapon because you can get a shield with potential, which will easily out-weigh any two-handed weapon.
-Swords are generally faster than Axes, making them better.

Actually it won't always easily outweigh. If the speeds are equal, the shield has to make you greater than 10% stronger to overcome the multiplier.

So a sheild with rather high w.atk, really good potential as compared to your other gear, or a medium w.atk and a medium potential is required.

I stand corrected, then.

Yeah, but the chances are that your weapon speeds won't equal (unless you have Speed Infusion). One-handed swords generally have the advantage of speed, making their DPS higher easier with a good shield.

Yep. When that is the case it's probably closer to 4% or so. Which is much easier to achieve.

1 hand vs. 2 hand was never well balanced for attack shields or potential sadly.

Question: Since Chaos, how useful is Soul Driver for the Dark Knight? I have some time to burn and figured maybe the quests would be a good idea, since the only thing I have heard is Soul Driver a bit nerfed since Chaos and was just wondering if it is still useful anymore for Dark Knights (Or any warrior class for that matter), thanks.

For my Paladin, advanced charge blow is way more useful in terms of damage and speed. Soul Driver just has a greater range, but less damage and slower as well.

it used to be a dark knight's stronger move, now it just plain sucks, only good thing is the fact that it hits behind you, which... isn't to say much. fury is better in all regards

What if, for example a VIP One-Handed Sword is Fast(5) and a Stonetooth is Fast(5) were of the same attack? Obviously you can scroll a VIP One-Handed Sword for more attack and it comes with a handy dandy attack shield. What attack shield would have to come into play to equal to the Stonetooth's attack? Lets say they are both 120 attack flat with no potential.

I've been using a Maple Pyrope for awhile now and it's great in speed, but lacks in damage compared to a fully GM'ed VIP One-Handed Sword. Should I get rid of this when decent SI comes out? (*knock on wood I dont know for sure)

Alright, so I keep hearing about the Advanced Charged Blow delay and stuff, and I want some clarification. Does anyone have a KMS video that actually shows the delay? All I have is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5QnIWyE3II and I don't see much difference. Or is Charged Blow supposed to stay the same?
Thanks
