Cannot believe no one has recommended Law & Order SVU yet. By far one of the best shows on television for over a decade, and super easy to watch if you have a Netflix account since all but the most current season are watch instantly.
Aside from that: Desperate Housewives Will & Grace 30 Rock

The Closer Tosh.0 House 30 Rock The Office (didn't watch much of this season, due to school) Iron Chef America Wilfred Parks and Rec ...all I can think of atm. Oh, also, Weeds.

Game of Thrones I love the book series A Song of Ice and Fire and I was a bit apprehensive as to whether they can properly turn the first book into a good TV series. I was absolutely floored by how great the TV series adaptation is (they're filming the second season yay!). I'd recommend anyone who have watched the series (and liked it) to read the book, if you haven't done so already.
There's lots of adult themes in the series though as well as violence and a bit of gore so not recommended for the young and/or squeamish.
