Read BS 25999-2:2007. If you don't have time to do that, I'll break it down for you right here. BS 25999-2:2007 is part 2 of BS 25999, which is a standard for business continuity; the first part is implementation and regulations, the second part is the minimum requirements that, by law, every company regardless of size or scope that has online or even simply electrical services MUST FOLLOW. The second part goes over what a company must do to become registered with BS 25999, which, to quote, "the organization must be able to demonstrate that its business continuity management system has been fully operative for a minimum of three months and has been subject of a full cycle of internal audits".

I thought the ToS everyone keeps mentioning just has to do with Compensation, not about them following standards.

I'm probably half right/half wrong but when any company offers a free service they aren't legally obligated to give any customer service/support, so while that is probably right for any service you have to pay for it doesn't apply to Nexon.

I hardly classify nexon as offering a free service.
Are all those millions of dollars of NX donations then?

You can simply play the game without NX. Don't hand me the "you have to pay to be good" bs, because you don't it's just harder. I know someone who's never spent a dime on NX and has a 50k range.

Any company that partakes in cash transactions, free service or not, require customer service.

Again probably half right/wrong but any company that offers a free service, can basically say pineapple you suck my plantain to their customers on customer service, which nexon does quite well

The point is, that nexon IS making money of this game. There ARE people paying money for this, and they deserve customer service. Just because half the people don't buy NX, doesn't mean the other half who does has no right to service.

YOU are missing the point nexon will never in a million years give a pineapple about their customers regardless of how much money is thrown at them

To sum up why you are incorrect as briefly as possible:
Inherent needs towards continued existence != obligation.
Seriously some of the shi't people feel is reasonable to disagree with is outrageous.

Ah, but there is the beauty.
Quote:...there are ʺprecautions so imperative that even their universal disregard does not excuse their omission.ʺ
A ToS stating they are not obligated to provide a decent Service Level Agreement is quite simply a paper veil, one that MIGHT hold up in a legal situation, but probably won't if one is able to hire competent legal aid. And even if it does manage to scrape through such an event, it still doesn't change the fact that any company not capable of paying off a BBB-esque ratings firm will be rated an F if it is brought to their attention. Pretty sure they WERE rated very low for a long time, at that.
The moment any free to play game implements a cash shop of any sort, THEY lose all rights to have such wording in their ToS; even if it is there, it doesn't matter, a ToS cannot override federal law, just as a lone person cannot decide it is OK to snipe people off the streets from his roof simply because he signed an agreement to himself saying it was OK. Technically, their CASH SHOP servers are the only ones that require all of these formalities, but they were obviously harmed as well, it's right there in the thread title. So if they wanted to be losers they could just put all of those backups on their Cash Shop servers and the character backup databases (which are very likely hosted offsite), and be able to skate by any legal trouble, though it would still make them horrible people for not doing the same with the normal servers. But then, horrible people skate by in court all the time.

Yes, and I'm trying to state here that I find the fact that they are even allowed to get away with this crap is abysmal.

Why are you persisiting in this argument. You're just wrong. You acknowledge the only relevant evidence that is pretty clear on why and how you are wrong but seemingly do not care. There is no logic in that. You're confusing your idea of "what should be" with reality. It doesn't make you right. It just makes you crazy.

How many laws do I need to quote before you are satisfied? It's not like I have anything better to do, I can literally go on forever if you want me to.
I don't really care if you ever accept you are wrong and I am right, because I am not a person with low self confidence that feels the need to gain the support of others; instead, I go out, find facts and form opinions for myself, then I save them for when the subject arises provide them with ample evidence supporting my opinion, and if others do not agree, so be it.
