Seems like they're preparing a new part of Time Temple.

maybe I should do the aran preqs past level 30 or so...
nah.

yes, Neinheart is strongly hinted (And Waltzing on nexon forums confirmed) to be Lilin's older brother. I have this cap that even state he left the island:

So he hasn't been on Ereve forever.I am wondering how he got there though... It doesn't seem like a place you can usually waltz into...

You know, I was joking at first about Neinheart being the Black Mage, but I think he might actually be the guy who set the dream curse...I mean, he was tortured for years under the influence of the Black Mage and did nothing more than shedding a few tears. He appears in doom Ereve practically the same age, whereas the empress and everyone else is much, much older...

He has this deep hatred of the legends, and ended up as right hand man to the human incarnation of the goddess of the maple world, and always seems to make the most convenient decisions...
I'm reminded of the series of black knights pictures that someone drew on basil after KoC was released...

ooh man, i had forgotten that, yea, they basically shove down your throat how neinheart is her brother, nice catch xD

as for this:

You're not really going to disregard my point based on a technicality, are you?

i agree, not really past, but from the name of the places, i've always thought that it's more of our, or the goddess', memories of the past, we start by the memories, we continue to the regrets, and end at our oblivions (forgotten/blocked) then again, not much to back this up but the names of the places

@above: he's much older actually, he grew a moustache lol. don't forget alex and the others were kids, kids although alex did hit on the hormones quite a bit, that's quite the beard he got.

His beard is alllll genetics. It amuses me to no end how much facial hair Alex has when he at least has the option to shave, unlike Neinheart whom has supposedly be stuck in a cage forever. The difference is staggering.

As for your other thing, it's obviously able to be wielded by the dude that released Pink Bean, so it's not exclusive to the goddess. It's just a remnant of her power.
No, I don't know what you mean (honestly, I hate when people say that). I wouldn't be questioning your logic if I didn't understand it.
The Mirror of the Goddess is there because it's the Goddess' throne room. Pretty sure I said that.

As for that signifies that it's in the past, let's see:
"...because time goes backwards in Memory Lane, you can't go forward unless you are given permission."
Yeah. Probably because they pineappleing say so.

Oh, and I said only the Goddess can "properly" wield the mirror:
"What? The intruder touched the Mirror of the Goddess? Impossible! It's true that the Mirror of the Goddess has the power to move the past but only the Goddess herself can wield it! It's not possible for a mere mortal to #rmove time#k, I don't understand what they're trying to do! "

It's well established that he summoned Pink Bean on accident while trying to bring back the Black Mage.
The reason for this is that he couldn't use it... properly.
Yes, the full power of the mirror is exclusive to the Goddess.

I don't think Neinheart is the bad guy at all. He is a great commander and all, but I don't belive that he could hide any bad influence under Cygnus AND Shinso, let us not forget that both of them are really strong. Also, I notcied that if Cygnus is the Queen of Maple World, what happened to her parents?

Neinheart being Lilins brother really shocked me. I bet there will be a quest involving Aran about maybe Liling being kidnapped.

The only problem I have with what the Door of the future, is that if it was created by a Black Wings Henchman, then how come Alex nows what conversation I had with him like 10 years before.

Also, can anyone list ALL of the Black Wings member we have as of now? I can't seem to find a list of any kind.

Okay, with what Viaje said, I must say that the guy who created Door to the Future, and the one who broke into the past, are possibly the same one. That member needs to be EXTREMELY powerful, to even be able to manipulate the goddes mirror to some extent. Or we could be looking at other Generals. We could have seen nothign of the Black Wings yet it seemsShine

Distrust is one thing; hatred is another.

Seeing as he hails from a land that was cursed by the Black Mage after the Heroes failed to save Maple World, I'd be more willing to place my money on that causing his hesitancy to help them.

I've never quite understood the whole 'Queen of the Maple World' thing. She's never demonstrated any sort of power or rule over anyone outside Ereve.

I don't think he's a bad guy either. I think he may know a little too much at times, but that can just be the plot calling for him to be someone who just know stuff, and they can just throw it off with "HE'S THE TACTICIAN." He is at least willing to speak his open and honest opinion and voice on certain matters, which may just be part of his job. This doesn't necessarily mean him being a bit of a jerk makes him evil... (On the bright side, at least he's honest about himself. Cygnus strikes me as so fake for some reason... Like... she's acting that way because she's supposed to.)

@Vaije Neinheart also seems to just not know whom the heroes are. He meets with Aran, Evan and Mercedes and so far, to my knowledge, is only aware of Aran being one of the original heroes. (After he acted like a complete jerk to him) I think he just gave up hope on them ever existing and doesn't consider the possibility of them showing up, thus he doesn't consider making alliances with them right off the bat. (And given how well their alliance with Edelstien turned out, I can't blame him for being hesitant.)

Only having made a DB past 3rd job isn't really helping me with the storyline, I had no idea half of this stuff happened.

There is one thing that proves she is QUITE strong. All cygnus knihts don't posses power on their own, it all comes from the Empress Cygnus. Thats why when she went evil, the powers of the Cygnus went evil too. At least that's what I got from the quests.

This.
As far as I can tell, the empress in and of herself doesn't do much, but as we can see when she turns evil, is capable of a hell of a lot. It seems to me now that she is the source of power, but doesn't wield it directly. She also has to keep Ereve floating, which is going to take a lot of energy.

I'm going to assume her having Ereve float is why she can't do anything. They say she is "young and fragile" but clearly, she has a lot of powers that could be a great ally in any battle. (Which once again leads up to her acting completely fake. Cygnus, ihu, y u so mean to mapleworld? STAND UP AND FIGHT! ;-; )

BTW, I manage to look through my stuff and found the extract sprite for the guy who summons PB:

He looks like Akyrum's santa-fied self or something. I dunno, I just thought it would be a nice fun thing to look at, seeing how it took me forever and a half to find his sprite and we're talkin about him.

She's like 9 in the present.
Also, it kinda seems that the generals can wear whatever the bleeding hell they want, the high-ranked operatives wear purple, and the low-ranked operatives wear blue. Also, the Edelstein people all wear black.
Therefore, I'm fairly certain that the guy who summons PB and the Black Witch are on the same level, but not generals.

Mmk. Random theory. Remember all the talk about Maplestory 2 a while back?
The goddess awakening could be a very good vehicle to lead us from her dreams (Maplestory 1) into the "real" world (Maplestory 2)

Thing is, you didn't question my logic. You simply nitpicked at one little thing I said that could have been taken out of context, and ignored the rest of the paragraph. Literally the only thing you posted in response to that one paragraph was that I'm missing an invisible point that you didn't make, and over-exaggerating my own point that you didn't refute. That's what I was trying to get at. You can't misread an entire paragraph because a person said something is a bit more strange than the rest of the strangeness, and then generalize that post as stating that nothing except that one thing is strange.

Viaje Wrote:As for that signifies that it's in the past, let's see:
"...because time goes backwards in Memory Lane, you can't go forward unless you are given permission."
Yeah. Probably because they pineappleing say so.
So time flows backwards. It's not IN the past, it's directing TOWARDS the past. You either don't understand what I'm saying, or are deliberately missing the point. Let me make it clear for you: there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING linking Memory Lane to the past of the Maple World. It's YOUR past. It's the past of MEMORIES. That's why they call it memory pineappleing lane. The moral of the main road of ToT is to teach you that regretting the past will only lead to oblivion. The guy that released Pink Bean was trying to rewrite the past, and it led to his oblivion. We done?

Viaje Wrote:Oh, and I said only the Goddess can "properly" wield the mirror:

Yes, the full power of the mirror is exclusive to the Goddess.
That's interesting. I guess I missed that, although it STILL doesn't fit in. The Goddess is permanently sleeping, and if she wakes up, the Maple World will suffer in some way, so she'll have to go back in time to fix that, but then her being awake in the past would screw up the future again. It's a constant paradox. I think the point is that you need the Goddess' blessing to pass through the mirror, much like you need her blessing to pass through Memory Lane. Only the Goddess can freely move around the main road, but she can grant you permission if you prove yourself. Maybe the mirror is the real link to the past. Maybe the past door of ToT is the mirror itself. That quote does say that the purpose of the mirror is to travel back in time.

Viaje Wrote:Except Team Rocket regularly fails their mission while the Black Wings accomplished precisely what they set out to do.

That's what I'm getting at. I'm trying to separate the mini boss Black Wings from the storyline progressing Black Wings. There are a lot of them, but only a handful that actually do anything besides sit there and look pretty.

Viaje Wrote:WE don't.

@Eliseo:

Elisio Wrote:Okay, with what Viaje said, I must say that the guy who created Door to the Future, and the one who broke into the past, are possibly the same one
Doubt it. The guy who released Pink Bean was just a random dude. ToT isn't really under any strict guard, as far as I can tell...

Back to Viaje:

Viaje Wrote:When did he ever indicate hatred?
Distrust is one thing; hatred is another.

Except when he held distrust for the good of the Empress, he was bawling like a child, begging her not to go to the world tree.
Now, with Aran, he outright insults the guy. He doesn't let him finish, he basically just kicks him off the island and tells him to get lost. Even after you prove yourself to him, he's still reluctant to have you help the Knights.

Now you could say he was desperate, but then why didn't he give in to the Black Mage's influence? How come he was still strong enough to go through endless torture and watch his loved ones die around him, but not strong enough to persuade, no, force the Empress to listen to him?

Viaje Wrote:Seeing as he hails from a land that was cursed by the Black Mage after the Heroes failed to save Maple World, I'd be more willing to place my money on that causing his hesitancy to help them.
He seemed to not recognize Aran, or the other heroes at all. He treated them like the enemy. If I recall, he called Aran a member of the Black Wings. Now either he genuinely didn't know who they were, which means he's not from Rien, because he should know the the legend, or he's feigning ignorance, which is only more suspicious.

Viaje Wrote:I've never quite understood the whole 'Queen of the Maple World' thing. She's never demonstrated any sort of power or rule over anyone outside Ereve.
Isn't she the human incarnation of the Goddess of the Maple World? She holds no power because she's mortal, but she's the vessel of the Maple Goddess. Or at least that's what my mind is remembering, could be false, idk.

She didn't make Ereve float, Shinsoo did.

Alright, regarding the whole Cygnus thing with me, someone mentioned it, and I think it may make some sense. The Von Leon story seems to imply that the knights and Cygnus herself has been around for awhile, so we don't know Cygnus's actual age/power.

And with neinheart and Aran: Neinheart gave up on the heroes years ago. he does not believe in them. When Aran approached Neinheart with the message, Neinheart did not even know his name. Of course he's going to not trust some stranger with information that seems a little threatening. He later says he did some research and admits his fears were unfounded. My guess is that between receiving the letter and talking to Aran again, Neinheart spoke with Tru (Seeing how the letter was from Lilin, and thus Rien, but it doesn't look like he even bothers to keep in touch with her. He can remain on a much more professional level speaking with Tru, someone who sells information, then having to deal with a sister he has probably never said hi to since he left.) And ONLY THEN realized who Aran was, which after that, he even stated that he may end up having to join forces with Aran. He becomes much more accepting upon learning this, so I think his initial behavior was just an honest misunderstanding of Aran's identity to him.
