The 50% success rate is accounted for. See: 2x+3 and 2x+4, meaning you'd need two of +3 shoulderpads + 2 scrolls and 2 hammers, to make a 1 +4, and so on.

The 120 Shoulderpads are an absolute waste.
Go 110 for tradeability or 130 for extra attack.
You(he) got lucky that it came out one above average.

Whatever the angle, you got ripped off.
- You could have easily sold that shoulderpad and ended up with enough money for him to make an even better one in a few days.
- Those emblems could have been used or saved for plenty of better investments. Or, ya know, wait until Jump to just buy the Rising Sun recipes.
- Your friend invested absolutely nothing in nor gave nothing back.

Really though, I hardly can feel sorry for anyone who invested in shoulderpads recently.
For one, you made the shoulderpad on Friday, but we've known about the next patch since Tuesday.
Plus, come on, I couldn't be the only one who predicted that the 5th Chaos would introduce an equip that would totally outdo everything currently available in that category?

No one needs to feel sorry, and yeah he rarely does for me in return, at least in the same manner, but it's not really a problem. I'll get my stuff no matter what, and I'm good at finding a profit in everything I do, and I don't even merch, so it's fine. I knew about the shoulder pads, I've been playing long enough to know Nexon would eventually give us Silent Crusade, cause they do, actually like to give us what we want the most in other versions, and even if it hadn't been this, and now, it'd have been something else.

He wanted it, I was presented with a challenge... I completed it, even when confronted with my own selfishness. Now I can drag him to w/e boss I want, I'm not in a major group, I'm too inconsistent, so having him and a few others to force into getting me to bosses, is good enough payment for me.

All I know is, I can't wait to get these shoulders pads, there's nothing I don't like about Silent Crusade. I'll completely my rising sun set soon, and when we can defeat empress, work on my 140 set. Even if I have to buy everything cause I can't get into runs. This will be fun imo.

+1: 2 armor + 2 scrolls = 35m
+2: 2x+1 + 2 scrolls = 90m
+3: 2x+2 + 2 scrolls = 200m
+4: 2x+3 + 2 scrolls = 420m

Warding will cost an average of 2 wards + 2 WS = 1.3bil per slot. Not cost effective.

I am only bumping this 3 day old thread to give my 2 cents on chaosing...

Don't do it unless you have nothing better to spend on. You can run through bils of mesos very fast, and not get anything better than straight 50%s. Of course this partly makes sense mathematically (you have to get +3-+5 attack to be better than the 50s), and also partly because I got extremely unlucky with chaoses (I had 8 atk a few times after 2 slots, and they all went -5 atk, literally all of them).

If you plan to chaos the first 3 slots, expect to shell out a minimum of 3-4b to surpass 50%ing 3 times.

300mil used on Chaoses, shoulderpads and 1 90% pot scroll to finish this betch off. Didn't count how many tries.



I kind of hate how it isn't 10att+, but o well, I'll stick to this. It's hard to get good att when there's so many other stats that it may raise or decrease. Good part is: it's 3 lined.

The 50% scrolls are a lot harder to get. By that i mean you need 3 more ranks above what you need to buy the shoulders from the NPC, and coins are not super easy to get. If you're a 'now now' kind of person, then chaos them. The scrolls cost 10m each and will take awhile before you can even buy.

Honestly, if you're a 'now now' kind of person with this you're losing out big time. Just the base stats of the thing alone are good enough until you can buy the scrolls.

If you do all the daily quests you can get around 150 coins per day meaning you can "level" up pretty fast. Too bad you can't buy stuff with the coins after you're at max level. . .

Strange how the chaos scrolls went from 8m to 40m in Khaini. Nice going merchants (die in fires).

There's another (good) effect to the economy. It will drain a good load of mesos out of the inflated markets.

Not really. The mesos aint spent on shoulder scrolls but on hackers chaos scrolls, that means the meso sink effect is left mostly untouched.

Chaos is not losing out at all. Considering they were 15m today when i purchased a bunch of them, and the fact that they can add as much as 5atk if you're lucky, means they far outweigh what the NPC scrolls can do. I made a 9atk shoulder with 1 slot left, and it only took about 300m. I'm sad that it broke with potential. I really should have used secret lab for that one.

The NPC scrolls also have a 25% chance of blowing up your shoulder. Chaos wont break it, but they have a chance of reducing the stat you want. So, neither way is completely superior to the other.

Up to the point where your apparent love interest leaves the Silent Crusade for "training", all the repeatable quests you can do can actually net 197 coins a day. That's only 3 days of doing the daily quests to unlock the scrolls after you've finished the storyline up to that point. Hardly a massive slog for a fairly reliable +6Matk/Atk and +6 allstats.

Or is +6Matk/Atk and +6allstats on an equip slot most people had empty not good enough ;<
