Seems like they're preparing a new part of Time Temple.
street Wrote:So much tl;dr posts about this....
Better fix that by starting a thread of completely off-topic, uninteresting posts that admit to one's own inability to pay attention to more than a couple sentences at a time.

Corazon Wrote:Since I'm not interested in the game itself, other than the date, and whether any parts of it included "since the Lich King has been killed", the rest means absolutely zilch to me.
I don't care whether or not you have interest in the game. Neither extreme excuses misinformation.

Corazon Wrote:See, there's the problem. Ocarina of Time doesn't have any post-game content, so the story's time is frozen in that one spot. With other games, like Summon Night or those that actually have post-game content (Megaman X Command Mission excluded), the game does update to NOT force the final boss on you. Therefore, in this case, there's an issue of real time questlines, which not many games actually possess.
We're getting a bit off of Maple here, but there is no 'problem' in a lack of post-game content in Ocarina of Time.
It's not necessary.
Not every game facilitates or even would benefit from post-game content. In fact, in many cases, this would just dilute the primary arc of the game.

I'd also like to point out that, if you can do it before the final boss, it's not post-game content.

Corazon Wrote:Yes. But he's never been the final boss. He's been a major factor in guiding the events of what goes on, but we've never DIRECTLY confronted him.
You contradict yourself too easily:
"You can reuse him for a plot, sure. But do that more than once, and it suddenly becomes ugly."

Corazon Wrote:By your logic, we're getting close to the actual Black Mage FIGHT, something Mabinogi has never, nor may ever, have the luxury of receiving with Cichol.
>"We're getting close to the Black Mage fight, and Mabinogi may never experience a fight with Cichol. Both these things are dictated by Viaje's logic."
Hurrwhat? I don't even know what that's supposed to mean.

Corazon Wrote:Well, that's because Star Force and Battle Network don't even tie into each other canonically - Megaman Classic, X, Zero, and ZX all do in one way or another. You just have to notice the cutoff points. Some games aren't exactly canon, and are more of a fan-demand/joke (least to me). Hell, even Classic doesn't tie into Battle Network nor Star Force - they're spinoffs.
Star Force takes place 200 years after Battle Network. That's officially established.
All the other main series are connected, it's true, even as far as Megaman Legends coming after ZX.

Battle Network isn't a 'spin-off', nor could it be.
If anything, it takes place in an altered timeline.

Glad that fan opinion doesn't establish official canon.

No, no. You see, he's right. This thread is annoying. If I'm going to read something about people's opinions about a game's story, I'd prefer if it wasn't a damned book.

This. when I saw it got 8 pages long, I thought more info about this possible addition was found.

Well yes... they have to run out of fillers sometime.
They'll eventually release the black mage, what else did you people expect...?

It's called "THREE DOORS" for a reason.

I lol'd reading these completely unrelated posts. Stay on topic, cause not one pineapple should be given towards them.

They can simply release Black Mage, that is incredibly strong, but incase some group defeats him, he will escape like a loser. Just like Pink Bean.

Exactly. Possibly, we'd also prefer it was about Maple-only stuff, not useless long off-topic arguments about other games.

THANK YOU.

I apologize. I didn't realize someone was holding a gun to your head, forcing you to read our discussion.

On another note, if you consider six paragraphs to be a book, perhaps you'd be more comfortable with Dr. Seuss.

Sorry that it took you five seconds to thirty minutes to realize the contrary (depending on your reading level).

I fail to see how "THREE DOORS" implies anything about the Black Mage. #missinglogicalsteps

Discussions are hilarious.

Then I suggest you actually talk about Maple-only stuff instead of just posting complaints about other people's off-topicness.
NEWSFLASH: Posting complaints about people's posts is even more off-topic than a discussion that naturally grew from the original topic.

Time for me to again reiterate that one of my least favorite kinds of people are those who peach and moan about people going off-topic despite the fact that they themselves have done absolutely nothing to guide the topic back to its original point.

They don't even ever have to release the Black Mage himself.

He's that one guy in that one story that you never actually encounter, but you encounter small traces of him and you think, ''Oh man, I must be getting closer!'' although you never actually get to him.

I want to see Fiel eat his shirt though, so The Black Mage MUST get released! Big Grin

But then The Resistance, KoC, Demonslayer, and the heroes' quests would havn't got any logic anymore if the Black Mage is released, Jerry-Boyle!
The only logical ones would be Adventurers, DualBlade, and Cannonshooter!

Except that's not at all what they've been doing.
They aren't laying break-crumbs; they're laying bricks to build up to the inevitable battle.

There never has been an air of mystery to the character.
We've known since Aran's release exactly what the Black Mage wants: to conquer the Maple World.
We've known since that long what he looks like.
Any back story they've added has been fairly superfluous.

The chronology could easily be rectified by using the Temple of Time.
New post-defeat content could be through another door to the future.
A "<x> years later" schtick.

Or, all new content could basically be 'gaiden' stories. That is to say that the Black Mage story would be the end of current chronology (leaving Maplestory 2 to continue it), but they could retcon in more threats that have nothing to do with the Black Mage.

Stopped reading here.

You're making assumptions based on your personal wants it sounds like. All I was stating in my post was a possibility, because it is in fact a possibility.

My bad. I forgot that I was assuming that they have been revealing more of the Black Mage's generals, having him more frequently mentioned, and actually showing him off in two recent 'trailers'.

I honestly don't give a damn whether he's released or not, so hurrdurrassumptions to you.
My interpretation of the evidence at hand is completely objective and based on trends exhibited by other works of fiction.
Similarly, lobsters could possibly someday evolve to grow wings, but recent patterns would indicate that you probably shouldn't put money on it.

But go ahead, stick your fingers back in your ears, and scream "nahnahnahnahnahnah! I can't hear you!"

Sorry, I thought I could just post random parts of a conversation here. Oh wait, I thought people could infer what was posted without creating a random argument about it. Guess I was wrong.

This thread is about a new part of the Time temple, not about the black mage.

//insert logical step that relates to the thread and actually talks about what is mentioned;

Just cause I, or someone else, brought up the mage, doesn't mean he will (Oh yes he certainly will) be released in the 'new' area of the time temple.

Could also be something creative;

1 door leads to the future.
1 door leads to the present.
1 door leads to the bananas... oh wait, past.

I'm just saying, a new part of ToT is 100% assured.

I remember when people stared at the castle in the background of El nath; LHC.

It will happen, and to those saying they don't have to release the black mage, this is not some game boy game where 12 year old kids win without realizing what they are doing. There is enormous, ENORMOUS build up towards 1 centered villain. A villain who appears in almost every 5 seconds of Nexon's advertisement. You'd have to be retarded to think they would never release him. I got your point, they don't have to, but they will.

Even if it takes 10 years (Like Nexon will be alive in 10 years..), they'll do it.

Edit: Forgot the most important part about my retort: There are 3 doors, 2 of them now lead to places, 1 does not...
Even if it was obvious, just like my original post, some people may have needed it be posted...

Okay, I'm going to teach you how conversation works.

If you mention a subject, followed by another subject, it can naturally be inferred that you mean the second subject to somehow connect to the first. That, is, of course, unless you include some clarification that the second subject is entirely separate from the first.

You failed to do this. In fact, your first paragraph left off with a question.
I logically assumed that the next sentence was you answering your own rhetorical question.

Don't get all huffy when people misinterpret your posts due to your poor structure.

I'm sorry, but I don't feel like trying to find diamonds that possibly don't even exist into your bucket of vomit. Because thanks to you, possibly useful posts will go unnoticed, all thanks to you. And that's annoying, believe it or not. And God, it's even painful to see your very own posts. Damn, just read some of them, you sound like the king of the jerks.

So... trying to ignore the above threads since they are scary, any news or info about any upcoming updates of this new area? The only thing I've read is Max stating of a boss update in september. Anyone holds some new info?

If you don't feel like reading my posts, then don't fucking read them. It's not that difficult to work out.

You give me far too much credit as well as too much power over you.
That "bucket of vomit" bit was cute though.

See, my posts don't, in any way, interfere with your ability to read other people's posts.
Likewise, my posts don't, in any way, prevent people from posting these theoretical "useful posts".
To make such either claim is both outlandish and childish.

No. Of course, apparently that is my fault as my posts have the magical ability to prevent new information from being revealed.

On a serious note, I haven't been able to dig up any news on this impending update.
I am curious about this "Boss Update" you mention. Where did you read about that?
