Torchwood: Miracle Day
#1
A Doctor Who thread but no Torchwood: Miracle Day thread? shocking.

The plot, in a nutshell:
A miracle occurs, every single person in the world becomes incapable of dying.

The plot so far, may seem boring to some. but i find it interesting thinking of all the issues raised by such a miracle. Such as diseases spreading, overpopulation occurring, and the fact that even people blown apart into tiny chunks are still alive and conscious, it makes the whole thing so much more realistic and scary.

It's all very mysterious at the moment, still only on episode 4 or 5 out of 10.

Torchwood was already more violent and sexy than Doctor Who, but this series is taking the cake.

Original Torchwood was better. Bring back my beloved Brits!

Though, bring on the sex scenes!

Indeed, its all a bit too American Tongue

When you thinks about it, Gwen and Rhys are the only British people in the cast, not counting the less important characters like the policeman and Gwen's parents.
I do like the 2 new Torchwood members though, they are delightfully quirky. (those 2 being Esther and Rex of course)

Also:
"Is this the best England has to offer!?"
-beat-
"I'm Welsh."

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE

Anyway, it's been amazing. Best season of the show by far... I think it's finally becoming that dark, adult show it tried to be at first, and now it's managing to pull it off excellently.

Oh, and the fact that Jane Espenson's writing some of the episodes has certainly helped it as well.

It's strange, but despite becoming a Doctor Who tragic, I've never managed to find time for watching Torchwood.

I don't like it that much. Could have been done much, much better. Far too slow and Americanised ¬_¬.

I don't think it's really been "Americanised" (mind elaborating?), but I can agree that it has been too slow. I mean, most of episode 6 really should have just happened off-screen.

In any case, episode 8 was a lot better than episode 7 was. :3

There were a lot of scenes of Gwen fighting away through a few bad guys and they all followed one of the following:

1) She punched her way through them.
2) She pretended she was doing something else whilst looking nervous.
3) The bad guy was in fact good and helped her.

Getting VERY sick of that :/.

EDIT: That's not the Americanisation, that's more of how I'm getting sick of the series.

It's Americanised in the way the episodes piece together. They are very dragged out and it's always a "oh I never saw that happening" in a very bad way of doing so. The older episodes did this but smartly, whereas this series has a dumb way of doing it. The flashback scenes happening randomly? Why not drag them out over the 7 episodes I've seen so far and half Jack waking up after every one, but one flashback an episode. Why cram all of them into one episode, randomly?

Episode 9 looks interesting... one thing to note is the old woman talking to Jilly, she mentions "Something just out of the corner of your eye, you can't quite see?"

To me this has either something to do with the Silence (though it is unlikely now that we know the silence is a cult, not a race)
OR
The "Daughter" from the episodes Human Nature/Family of Blood who was trapped inside mirrors to be something you can only see out of the corner of your eye, bonus points because she was also looking for immortality.

I'm probably wrong on both counts, but eh.

I'm guessing you're basing this off a preview?
