HTP vs MoN
#1
Hi all, just wondering what %stat a htp would need to have to be more beneficial than a MoN. I'm lvl 163.Rolleyes

It's not a matter of level, it's a matter of your current stats.

What % of your current w.att is your MoN? For example, if your overall w.att (including weapon, cape, glove, rings, belt, shoes, shoulders, mask, Blessing of the Fairy, and any potions or buffs you usually train with) is 200, and your MoN is the average 10 w.att, then your MoN is 5% of your w.att and therefore of your damage.

How many %DEX do you already have on your gear?
In the extreme case that you have 0% DEX, a 3% dex HTP might already match your MoN (because of the extra 17 dex and str it has), and a 6% definitely will. On the other hand, if you already have 100% DEX, every additional % counts for less, so to match those 5% damage you'd need at least 9% DEX, possibly 12.

For me, I have a high amount of wep att(around 290-300) and a comparatively low amount of %luk(58%), so my 22 all 5 all stat HTP beats a 11 att MoN

Or in simpler terms

1. Get Total ATK value
2. Estimate New Items' ATK value
3. Calculate:
(Old Items' ATK - New Items' ATK)/Total ATK = % needed to cover.

In this case, "New ATK" would be 0 and "Old ATK" would be 10.

Even simpler:

Can you afford a non potentialed HTP?

yes- Can you afford a pre potentialed one?-> yes: Buy it.

If no to any of the above: Get MoN for free. Too bad CWKPQ is closed. LOL j/k you can has deputy star.

Thanks guys. My %dex is currently at 57% and yes I can afford a potentialed HTP. My wep attack is 150~, I can't check exactly because I'm not at a computer. What I'm getting from these answers (minus doing the actual math) is if I can afford one, get one. Mmmh. TO THE FM.

I've found that having both is nice. MoN for PvP, HTP for everything else, because of the potential disable.

I've been using a 12 M.Att MoN in PvP and my 15% int HTP everywhere else.
