pick a color
#1
if you have a horrible fashion sense or tend to wear overly bright colors, get out now.

i'm getting one of these as a birthday present for my friend. the problem is i have no idea what color kanken to pick; i have my personal preferences and i think i know hers, but just in case, i want to go with the most widely appreciated color as a backup.

this backpack i'm getting her won't be seasonal; it will be for everything. thus i'm leaning more towards earth tones, plus maybe red or blue since they tend to go with everything too. this actually means a lot to me, so i need opinions.

if you pick a pastel/neon color i will personally come to your house and murder you. i already told you to get out.

Brown or dark green is usually a safe go.

all the available colors suck, either they are some sort of vomit, too flashy, or white.

blegh, royal blue or forest green w/red

I'd buy one of the dark greens. But I'm biased towards green.

what i had in mind when i was talking to friends about this a while back. i just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me.

thanks for the suggestions all, i'll keep them all in mind when i have to choose (her birthday is in 2 weeks so i have like a week or so to finally decide). if you really want me to get a certain color just...say so, lol

Ox Red seems like the best one at my eyes.

You're definitely right that earth tones and/or darker neutrals would be more appropriate for an all-year, all-everything bag. And you're also right that faded reds/blues would also be good. So, with all that said, of the options in the link in your OP, I think the best would be:

Brick
Putty
Mud
Greenland
Navy
Graphite

I personally like the Navy the best because the bright red logo is a neat contrast against the color of the bag itself, with the whole piece still ultimately being a great neutral that will go with everything. I also really like the Graphite for similar reasons, but in the end it's your call.

My personal preference: purple > uncle blue > peach > ice blue

Earth tones are boring and should be worn on your feet. Accessories should be more fun.

A big backpack is not an accessory, it's more like a tool.

Going to agree with some of what FrozNlite suggested.

- Mud
- Forest Green
- Greenland Green.

The Putty isn't too bad, either.
