[GMST] [1.00] Capture the Flag
Muppy Wrote:Oh, okay, thanks. Biggrin

Hopefully those quests are easy to do. *has no clue about how to get the medals*

all the quests are basically LOL GO KILL AN AREA BOSS KAY?

and by the time you finish leafre, you have enough coins to upgrade your medal to the point where you can buy the shoulderpad

i finished the main body of quests in about two to four hours of straight gameplay, only took that long because lolcrashes

You need to be a silent crusade grand captain to buy the shoulderpad

...so it's impossible to get the Grand Champion medal?
Rolleyes
We're seriously stuck with a shity 1/1/1/1 150 MP/HP 3 acc/avoid medal from this event?

Awesome. Guess I won't be needing to make that 110 belt then.

There's repeatable daily quests that give out coins.

I watched the CTF video a few times and I've concluded that while mobility-enhancing skills such as Flashjump and Teleport are in play, the flag carrier will NOT be able to utilize them. That's how it was in Unreal Tournament, once you picked up the flag, you couldn't translocate without dropping it. This is going to make CTF a HIGHLY team-based PvP mode, which will be absolutely amazing... until the hackers pineapple it up.

How to CTF, MS-style:
 1. Bum rush to flag
 2. Bum rush back

Your opponent's lack of ability to actually critical hinder your movement or body-block you pretty much makes resistance futile. The maps make the strategy even better. Run along the high ground, if they follow up drop a level. The lack of decent skill auto-targetting in PvP (even in comparison to the rest of the game) and the lag that skills are all affected by, makes actually hitting a target who's focus is running around like a derp into something out of a children's cartoon. Road Runner and the Coyote or something.

CTF is a good game mode in many games, because the mechanics are refined and tuned to actually work, and you have the ability to play goalie with your flag, creating choke points and utilizing strategies like suppressive fire. None of these will actually work in MS, thanks to how PvP works. It seems like many people other than me have realized this as well, considering the amount of negative responses to the update.

The video with my Shadower in it?
The video in which my Shadower had no problem Flash Jumping around with the flag?
The video in which team work was hardly required?

Yeah, you're full of it.

I think the CTF matches are too short. It should be time based and not game 3.

No, I don't give a pineapple about your shadower.
No, I didn't notice that video on page 15 until I read your post, because I didn't want to read 15 pages of repetitious comments before I posted my own.
CTF can be dominated by a one-man-army if you're skilled enough in any game, so your rhetorical question is moot.

No, I was talking about the Official CTF video that was on Nexon's website:

You will notice in THAT video that there are no movement skills in use by the flag-carrier, which for balance purposes would seem to be the logical thing to do, hence my post above that you decided to be a jackass about and bash with your snooty arrogance.

I'm full of it? No, I missed a single video on page 15 of a very repetitive thread - you, sir, are just narcissistic as far as your last post is concerned, which is ridiculous considering you came to the same conclusion I did prior to trying it out yourself: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php...post795485.

By farming instanced area bosses with a 1 hour time limit on them? Ores only drop from those new area bosses which, afaik, are only instanced and don't spawn normally. Keep in mind that ore drops are actually fairly uncommon and you don't get an easily farmable bypass to the fatigue system, but instead a useless loophole that cannot be exploited for any real promising means.

You don't. That's the end of the storyline.

I thought everybody here was smart enough to know everything nexon posts on their website is incomplete and/or false. Which is the entire reason why they're looking for information here in the first place.

The fact that Viaje can use movement skills in GMST means your entire post and argument is completely invalid.

Also, any game where one person can win against an organized team in CTF that easily, is trash and should never be played. unless it's meant to be some sort of Juggernaut-CTF mix. Which this most certainly is not.

e; if you don't want to believe me or him that this mode won't be balanced fun, check out the likes/dislikes on the video you linked. It's in the negative. 169+ 292-

You should. He makes your theory laughable.
Really, it wouldn't have to be my Shadower either.
The other Shadower in the video equally negates your post.

RADRaze2KX Wrote:No, I didn't notice that video on page 15 until I read your post, because I didn't want to read 15 pages of repetitious comments before I posted my own.
Sounds rationale. I mean, why not post a theory after something has been available long enough for it to be tested?

RADRaze2KX Wrote:CTF can be dominated by a one-man-army if you're skilled enough in any game, so your rhetorical question is moot.
No, it renders your statement that "this is going to make CTF a HIGHLY team-based PvP mode" moot.
It makes my rhetorical question spot-on, actually.

RADRaze2KX Wrote:You will notice in THAT video that there are no movement skills in use by the flag-carrier, which for balance purposes would seem to be the logical thing to do, hence my post above that you decided to be a jackass about and bash with your snooty arrogance.
I also notice that in THAT video, there are hardly any movement skills used period.
Then again, there was only 17 seconds of actual gameplay, which isn't a very reliable sample size.

I was a jackass about your post because your post served absolutely no purpose.
Mine was a response made in annoyance with your arrogance.

RADRaze2KX Wrote:I'm full of it? No, I missed a single video on page 15 of a very repetitive thread -
I'm curious how you're able to conclude that a thread was repetitive despite the fact that you clearly didn't read it.

RADRaze2KX Wrote:you, sir, are just narcissistic as far as your last post is concerned, which is ridiculous considering you came to the same conclusion I did prior to trying it out yourself: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php...post795485.
You sure do like dem big words, partner.
Though, if you really think about it, you should put down those narcassassincitnascism goggles of yours so that you can see the glaring differences between our posts.

See, my post was made before Tespia was up. You know, before there was anything else to go on.
Also notice the choice words:
"Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if they went Halo-style in Capture the Flag."

Now let's look at yours which was posted two days after Tespia had been released
"I watched the CTF video a few times and I've concluded that while mobility-enhancing skills such as Flashjump and Teleport are in play, the flag carrier will NOT be able to utilize them. That's how it was in Unreal Tournament, once you picked up the flag, you couldn't translocate without dropping it. This is going to make CTF a HIGHLY team-based PvP mode, which will be absolutely amazing... until the hackers pineapple it up."

I made my post clear that it was supposition because, well, that's exactly what it was.
You, on the other hand, made every verbal attempt to assert your conclusion as absolute and fact.

...and then you come at me and declare me the arrogant one?

How about, in the future, you be respectful enough to actually read what others have said before posting something as if your voice is the be-all, end-all?
