EVO 2011 Feedback Thread

Surprised to see no EVO thread :o

Did anybody catch it on Ustream or better yet, go too it? How did you like it? Etc.

It wasn't as hype as last year IMO. The biggest upset was Latif taking out Tokido, Daigo, and Poongko in AE.

Poongko getting a perfect on Daigo made up for that completely though xD

Just got back home.

TBH I was kinda disappointed with how the MvC3 finals turned out, but probably because I was really rooting for F.Champ and Combofiend and it really sucked that they had to battle it out in losers. It was nice to see XRay get really far, he comes to RAMnation but it seems that he's not as well-known. Also disappointed because I think F.Champ has a better Phoenix than Viscant, even though Viscant ended up winning. I'm just glad PR Balrog didn't take the whole thing.

AE top 8 was SO HYPE. It was my first time going to Evo so I can't compare it to previous years, but damn. It was amazing to be there in person, you really get caught up in the action and it was unbelievable to watch Latif eliminate Daigo. I felt like my heart was going to explode from all the hype.

 Also, my life is now complete.

Grrrr, I raged so hard when Viscant won! I wanted PR Balrog to take it home to be honest, maybe that's just my hidden rage of Phoenix users
Highlight of the entire EVO though was that Level 3 Tron kill that PR Balrog pulled off. Remarkable.

One thing I'm realizing as I'm watching some of the videos is that you can't hear a lot of Yipes' commentary. He was on the mic commentating the streamed matches for... top 32, I think? of MvC3 on Saturday night. So hilarious.

Man after watching the BB portion of EVO. It realllly makes me want to pick it back up again.

Yipes only did in-house commentary, which is why you can't hear him. It's a shame he didn't get to commentate on the stream (especially since Keits did. You have no idea how many times I said shut up Keits at my computer over the weekend).

Also, Blazblue was pretty hype. Glad to see it finally being an official Evo tournament after 2 years of the game being released way too close to Evo. Spark's blocking is so godlike D: I can't believe how free he made LordKnight look, considering how free LordKnight made me look at Final Round this year D:
