3DS discussion with Tokyo Gameshow Tidbits: Ace Vs. Layton

I don't know how to measure sales honestly. I see it sold millions of units when it just came out, but after that? Did OoT help hardware sales?

I just know that Nintendo needs to move fast before the Vita release this year.

To put it in perspective, the PS2 still managed to sell 1.4 million units during this same period.

Not really surprised at the price cut at all. High price plus no games is pretty much suicide.

I got my 3DS right before OoT so I already got it for quite a reduced price, I can’t see it going crazily cheaper than what I got it for. With the 20 games I will be fine. Wish it was GB or GB Color games instead of NES though. But I guess it depends on how they plan to update them.

I'm surprised they cut the price by that freaking much in this short of a time. I wasn't even expecting it to be $200 before the end of the year. I already have a lot of those GBA games, but oh well. I guess I can replay them when I'm bored.

I will probably get one after the price drop. yeah i don't get free games, but a severe price drop like that is a huge pay off for me (stupid college fees going up over 12% >.>)

Uh, Sarah, that article never said that there would be more than 20 to choose from. Just that the interviewer asked them that and they said they would " announce more details in the future". I'm personally guessing that there's only going to be 20 games that everyone gets.

The multiplayer thing is... well, kinda odd. But if it's like they're just adding wireless multiplayer to games that had an option for 2 players, that's pretty awesome.

Cool... looks like I'll be using this as a retro system as well.(Just like my Wii) It would be nice to get decent games that are new to the generation still instead of rehashes and Virtual Console stuff. Free stuff doesn't hurt though. Excited about Mario Kart and Metroid Fusion as two of the titles to pick.

NES games are a steal. They're already freeware, still they charge for them. Thank god they're gifts.

Guess this is a sign Nintendo's desperate / the 3DS isn't doing as well as they hoped. I could be completely wrong though, I haven't been paying much attention to the 3DS sales versus their competitors.
