Maplesea down... anyone knows anything?

well, They had a 30 hour server maintenance for SG gateway from 0000hrs 27th July 2011. then I just tried to access forums and website and its down, and i can't log into the game either. so its some inexplicable major downtime...

so anyone saw any notices on website/forum before it went down?

EOUL (Reuters) – South Korea' communications regulator said Thursday hackers from China had attacked an Internet portal and blogging site operated by SK Comms, accessing the personal information of up to 35 million users in what could be the country's biggest cyber attack so far.
The incident follows a series of hacking incidents at South Korean financial firms in recent months, exposing the vulnerabilities of networks in the world's most wired country.
The Korea Communications Commission said in a statement that hacking attacks Thursday morning targeted personal information including phone numbers, e-mail addresses, names and coded data of users of the Nate portal and Cyworld blogging sites, both operated by SK Comms.

28th July 9:00am to 'further notice' - MapleSea Crashed, Website Crashed, Forum Crashed.

So basically, when the server maintenance ended at about 5am, the compensation was;

2x EXP Events
28th July & 29th July - 2000hrs to 2200hrs
30th July & 31st July - 1500hrs to 1700hrs

AND

Free Hair Coupon(Reg) & Hair Colour Coupon(Reg) for each account in SG Gateway. Collectable in Cash Shop until 29th July 1000hrs.

I heard that MSEA was crashed by a hacker. MTS was shut down to prevent duping. All discussion went to MapleSea's Facebook wall since forum is down as well. 3.3k posts and counting -.- http://www.facebook.com/MapleSEA?sk=wall

Evolving Ring event was extended to 27 July(previously 26 July) due to bug, unable to make lvl17 rings tradable. But on 27 july, due to maintenance, they announced that it is extended to 28 July. But now no one is able to access the game.

Edit: To those who are worried, there were no rollbacks during the 30 hour maintenance. Checked it this morning.

@Torchic111: When I checked this morning, the x2 only applied to drop rate. For EXP, it was x1.2... x.x

I'm gonna say this maintenance is gonna be the longest maintenance I've ever experienced in my 4 years of gaming. Probably the longest in MSEA history.
(As of 5:30pm, the maintenance has lasted for about 37 HOURS, excluding 4:35am - 9:00am today, and still out of service...)

Oh well, while waiting...moving to MapleStory Adventures FB game 1st ^^

Expecting more compensations from them, otherwise we can pack our bags and move to GMS/KMS/JMS...

They need to stress test the server right after it goes back up using dummy accounts, darn it. It probably crashed because it couldn't take the strain from the sudden influx of players.

as you know they are regular coupons. regular coupons do not necessarily give randomly the hairstyle the vip coupons at the same town has available.

you have to be thankful to hackers sometimes. without them, sheer inertia means asiasoft will not upgrade even though we suffer perpetual dc/lag from the stupid evolving ring + grendel ring events and massive amounts of hackers.

Today morning there was someone who claimed that he crashed the server and was duping.

I am the one who crashed the server and dupe items, good job Asiasoft to patch it so fast(we got a short uptime of around 2 hour in the morning) but they didn't fix Malaysia server yet. Better then Nexon though.

Not the exact quote since the forum is down but that's what he said.

Coincidentally, an admin/moderator in Asiasoft forum started a thread about cyber crime and what law they can use to charge someone against the rule right after the first server crash.
