Why would he need to be protected from it? The raikage was fast enough to dodge sasukes amaterasu, and naruto is faster than him now. So there's no need to protect him from it.

Nagato has shown no skill in genjutsu and itachi (and no-one else for that matter) has never shown the ability to cast a ninjutsu while also using a genjutsu. If he stops using the genjutsu, then naruto would just move.

No. It's canon that rinnegan allows you to master ANY jutsu within a short amount of time.

So he could learn any technique. At what point did you see any proof that he learnt any genjutsu techniques? Or are you implying that by simply popping a pair of new rinnegan eyes into has head that he magically learnt every technique ever?

That is such a huge plothole if it was true that there is no way it could possibly be right. For one thing, that would have just magically granted madara every technique ever. And what about jutsu that hadn't been invented yet when nagato got his rinnegan like Fuuton rasenshuriken? Just because he could learn them doesn't mean he ever did.

Nagato has no genjutsu techniques, he made it blatantly obvious he focused all his time on ninjutsu, had an obvious lack of any strong taijutsu techniques as well as genjutsu

We have no idea of what he has done off-screen when we haven't seen him.
And it is true, the rinnegan user can learn all jutsu there are. And he has to actually LEARN them, he doesnt just know all jutsu.

Even if his hobby was practicing ninjutsu that does not mean he never learned genjutsu. And i don't know, there are many YEARS of his off-screen time where we didnt see him. And maybe he didnt want a path for genjutsu? I have no idea, but that he has the potential to use genjutsu is there.

This manga doesnt make sense, the sooner you just go with that it'll all be easier. Naruto wasn't meant to be able to use kage-bunshin and yet made a ton of clones. A lot of things done by the characters in this manga sometimes seem extremely odd and seems to be the hard way out.

Itachi knew and learned of Madara's Moon Plan and decided to give Naruto the crow to be used to seal him (and Nagato maybe) to delay his plan from being realized.

It be amazing if sasuke got to speak with him again, so he could clarify why itachi did what he did, from the horses' mouth if you will.

...It also get rid of this constant "MUST DESTROY HIDDEN LEAF EMOEMOEMOEMO". It be nice to see naruto and sasuke just double team madara.

Nice chapter but on a side note, didnt jiraya(forget how to spell it ._.) say that nagato was always bad at genjutsu? Plus why wouldnt nagato just use almighty push gravity thingy and pull naruto\bee to itachi or keep him still while he uses amaterasu O.o? Or then could naruto or bee ues their "tailed beast arms" to move around without being trapped? I'm guessing the crow will be able to seal itachis eyes since it has his eye on it.
