Unscheduled Server Maintenance - 07.22.2011
octopusprime Wrote:Hacking, while looked down upon by certain people, is perfectly fair-play by maple standards. These people willingly played, with their own time characters they thought were going to be interesting, however if they had taken 5 minutes to look at the game instead of trusting a total stranger like an idiot, they wouldn't be at a loss. Hacking, ehhhhhh, more like teaching a few people a lesson.

My oh my. what a leap of imagination it was for me to debunk that argument.

You're confusing "hacking" with "account sharing" to debunk an argument about scamming which is completely different? Sounds good to me bro.

Nexon is the total stranger. I was just changing as few words as possible for the lulz.

If they come out at the rate of dark scrolls it wouldn't be half bad.

TBH I still don't believe it was really unintentional.

Again, if it had been intentional, it would have been in the event notice.
Of course -Hime- can't say, "oops, we messed up sooooo bad", so they present it as "we wanted to be nice to you but due to feedback decided it wasn't wise". Ah well, I suppose 99% of the community swallow that, hook, line, and sinker.

Oh well, maybe you're right. Like they say, 'No matter how cynical you get, it's never enough.' This applies very well to Nexon.

Analogies are legit ways to debunk arguments. You did it right, the things you were comparing just didn't fit. Like i said before, tripling the price on something to have it sell is simply a deal for the seller and a scam for the buyer. The other way around...someone putting something for a lot less than it's worth to have it sell is simply a deal for the buyer and a scam for the seller.

Doesn't make sense. It's just merchanting. The only difference between both is that one of the two parties involved just screws up so "scam" isn't the right word for this.

Time to start a reverse movement. Demanding the scrolls either get deleted or added back.

I bolded the relevant part of your post.

If Hime said it, you can't trust it.

Takebacker Wrote:They didn't "forget". It was clearly 100% intentional evidenced by -hime-.
Just like I don't have to pay any NX for my Evan's Magic Guard because the mastery books now drop from monsters?

MetaSeraphim Wrote:Not really. Nexon wanted it to be a surprised for us players, but a bunch of whining little bitty babies had to ruin it for everyone else.
That's counter-productive.

Golden Temple is an NX-requiring event. Therefore, it's more prudent to give players as much reason as possible to use it.

You're missing the point of a surprise!

I'm saddened that you actually think this.

Things i wish didn't exist in this game. Potential, GM scrolls, Shielding Wards. I'm iffy on Pams and Whites. I hate pams but i think most of the time where they weren't exploited to hell and back, whites were really an ok thing. So by that extension i only hate pams due to it being a cash item as whites effectively serve the same purpose. I don't think that is fair to Nexon so i changed my stance to iffy.

I also wish gachapon was a playable aspect of the game and less riddled with completely pomegranatety things like food coupons and arrows. Or also just removed. It's just been a part of maple for so long that it is somewhat harder to imagine maple without it. Then again, i never use it.

I would loose around 800 mil if they were deleted...

Lets just start a movement to add them back.

The difference is when the person is tricked on what they are buying actually.

So it's the sellers fault when the buyer screws up, but when the seller screws up it's the sellers fault? That's basically what you're telling me.

If not for the statement that started this, I'd assume this was your brand of sarcasm. 0.o

Takebacker Wrote:Surveys.
Surveys keep me from paying NX for skillbooks?
Exactly how does that work?

Protip: I never said "buying NX", I said "paying NX".

They tried to cheat me but i won in that case both of us were scammers so in terms of morality i didnt nothing wrong because i stole from a thief. And yeah i still think that this is the meaning of merchanting in MS because when you buy something cheap in the stores becuase someone missed a 9 or 0 in the value you are abussing some human qualities.

Scamming a scammer is still scamming. However, in my opinion, neither one of you were scamming.

Like they intended the SP resets for BB to be a surprise?

Sorry, doesn't fit their usual style at all. They'd at least have put in a tantalizing "and many other goodies" in the notice.

However, the good news is, since they want us to believe it wasn't a glitch, they have no excuse to try and remove the scrolls already out.

That is how the game is, deal with it. GM scrolls are a way for people to get good weapons easily without spending billions upon billions or thousands upon thousands to get godly potential equips.

Sure, the game would be better without potential or GM scrolls. But that is how the cards were dealt. And there should actually be a second option for people to get decent equips. And that is coming from someone who has all clean equips.
