Japan MS
#1
Why do Japan MS players always say they're not as powerful as GMS players? They've got like 5 more sources of potential power than we do. I would like to see some numbers and proof that JMS isn't more powerful than GMS because from where I'm standing, it seems like JMS has much, much more potential power than GMS (I don't mean potential as the in-game term)

Issuing warnings to all sides here - this is a valid question, not an invitation to start a flame war.

do note i don't play or know much about JMS, but i would have to say... exploits, for example, 50% and WS at a price affordable by many.

then again, i am probably wrong, i'll just see what happens.

Don't they also have that +50 stat pets?

30+ not 50 and yeah we probably have more raw power because of 50% and cheap WS (but who cares about that when cubes give 4x times your normal damage) and JMS have potential shoulder equips (3rd tier i believe), they have now monster familiar and monster book for a easy location of drops.

Please note them. The only two things I can think of are the Shoulder Pads from the Cross Brigade content and the Monster Book, which aren't exactly "potential able," but have set bonuses that give potential stats, which you cannot use Miracle Cubes and get better with. The Monster Book potential stats are very limited and don't give much to go on.

In GMS, there's extreme item duplication, scroll duplication, enhancement hacked equipment, and overall, potential in GMS is much more in abundance. Where as in GMS, 6% stats are kind of common, they're worth hundreds of dollars in JMS because not only did we have extremely f'ucked up drop tables for the past 8 or so months, but rates for hidden potential on items and the drop rates of those items were so ridiculously rare. The only way it was truly possible to get potential on items was to Maker an item (because 99% of all equipment did not drop from any kind of monster) and hope to land a potential scroll on it. If you could cube your item, great. If you couldn't... good luck re-Makering your item and potential scrolling it again.

Edit : Also : Onyx Apples, Mark of Naricains, Gelt Chocolates, Naricain Demon Elixirs, Sswis Cheese, White Scrolls, 50% Pink Scrolls, etc. We don't have any of those.

Those alone are a major thing.

Plus the majority of hacking going on in GMS is duping, as ShiKage also said. The hackers in JMS are just vaccers. Vaccers like CRAZY, but nothing is really duped. The hackers just vac so they can sell the money they make over those gold selling sites. The hackers don't really care about hacking super gear, because they don't have any use for it in the first place, they don't boss, or even pay attention to their screen half the time.

None of the guys cheating are making 10+ star gear, or any of the crazy crap we've seen in screenshots from GMS.

JMS also loves to nerf everything they can get their hands on.

I'm not talking about exploiters/hackers or people who take advantage of those things. I'm talking about actual features, as anyone should be. This claim has been made long before the hacking got out of hand, as well.

JMS has: 3 pets that can each get +30 stats (and potential iirc?), familiars, monster book with stat bonuses, I had no idea that shoulder pad existed but let's add that, whatever this soul feature thing is, and probably other exclusives that I'm not aware of, like the shoulder pad.

I would say that at the very least two legit players in both games are fairly even, if a JMS player isn't stronger. Ssiws Cheese isn't readily available (not available at all right now with broken CWKPQ), White Scrolls are extremely rare for anyone who isn't crap, 50% pink scrolls don't exist or are extremely rare/one-of-a-kind (iirc these were a new character event that people exploited the pomegranate out of), I don't even know where those Naricain Demon Elixirs you're talking about come from so they must be rare, and I'll give you the Marks for sure but even Apples have limited use.

Pet equipment cannot have potential ability.

Without having experienced both, it's hard for you to understand the shear difference. In my experience in GMS, everything is at least two steps ahead of JMS - at least as far as scrolled gear goes. Where a great weapon in GMS is a 160+ stat weapon, 130 is pretty freaking amazing in JMS. I see a ton of people with 15+ attack gloves in GMS, shoes with attack on them, capes with high amounts of attack on them, etc. In JMS, we haven't had Chaos Scrolls like gMS has. Our Chaos Scrolls only viably came from events, making them cost a fortune. High attack gloves, capes, shoes, etc. haven't been an option for anyone except those who dump hundreds of dollars in the game all of the time. In GMS, Chaos Scrolls are cheap as dirt and thus can easily be used on Pink Adventurer Capes, BlackFist Cloaks, and the like. The only problem there is getting them (the capes), which is a problem both servers have (especially with the auto-ban crap with CWKPQ in both GMS and JMS).

Hell, in boss speeds alone, GMS far surpasses JMS. Horntail runs in GMS, as I hear, are under 30 minutes. In JMS, they still take, on average, 2 hours per run. Chaos Zakum is extremely hard to beat in JMS, thus no one goes, Chaos Horntail is hardly ever run, because no one can seem to gather the people who want to go, etc. I have not once seen the Pink Bean victory message in Keyaki.

you aren't describing GMS if you do that, you are trying to equalize it by taking away what makes GMS better. the demon elixirs i've never heard/seen tho, but gelts aren't hard to get (except now)

The stuff about those boss runs, from what I've gathered reading yours and others posts in the past about JMS, I don't know if that can be attributed to equipment. It seems to me like JMS players have a lot of trouble (or just don't want to) working in a group

What? No. Lol JMS players definitely work better in a group than the average GMS player. I can state that from pure experience.

That doesn't make sense because chaos scroll are normal drops from some monsters like captains, but you still have a point because you'll never get the amount of chaos scrolls we have because of exploiters and don't talk about potential it is on every version and it has the same process, buy nx.

Nexon Japan thought it would be cool to butcher the drop tables. The only monster that ever dropped Chaos Scrolls in JMS were those Aggrivated Zombie Mushrooms which spawned in that one map maybe 2 at a time. Even with Chinese hackers there 24/7, they didn't find any at all.

Seriously, when I say Nexon Japan butchered the drop tables, you'd be ripping your hair out if Nexon America did that to GMS. It was absolutely terrible.

Demon Elixirs were from iTCG, so those are ridiculously rare now too.
