To scroll a staff... 20's or 30's ?
#1
Q: Which would be better if you want to scroll an end-game staff?

9 x 20%'s (+7Matk each, 63Matk total)

or

9 x 30%'s (+5 Matk, +3 INT, 45Matk, 27 int)

Assumptions:
INT% is 150%
You can afford cash shop protection scrolls/wards and whites/pam's

I'm going to guess that the 9x20's would be the way to go...

Err. Why post a question with such an obvious answer? If money aint an issue it is simple math.

I think he means to ask whether the 27 INT (+150%) outweighs the 18 m.att difference.

Correct, SaptaZapta, thank you for clarifying that for me. 27 int * 2.5 (the original 27 + the extra) = 60.75, or 60INT as it is in Maple... is 60 int better than 18Matk?

Let's do the math, then.

To make the numbers easy, I'm going to assume you have a total of 1100 non-% int (i.e., base + numerical bonuses on gear), and 360 m.att (including all gear, blessing, any buffs or potions you normally train with, but not %m.att on weapon).

If that is the case, 27 int are about 2.5% of your int, while 18 m.att are 5% of your m.att.
Since damage is, roughly, INT * M.ATT * constant, it's clear the 18 m.att will boost your damage about twice as much as the 27 int.

Note that your %INT doesn't enter into the calculations at all. 27/1100 = (27*2.5)/(1100*2.5)

178 + 63 = 241 + 40 = 281 (Assuming that staff starts out average). That'd be one sexy staff, do want to see someone accomplish that.

18 M.att will outweigh 27 Int, though.
