Kira and L

Yes, this is that game from lolbasil. The ironic thing is that I've never participated, yet I'm making this thread here

DIRECTIONS:

• Kira and L are chosen randomly by me. I will PM them. Do not PM me or request to be anyone.
  
• Rounds go like this:
  • First I will PM Kira. Kira will choose one person to kill. **NEW** If you want, you can specify the cause of death and I'll put it in the thread with the KILLED message.
    
  • Then I will PM L. L will eliminate someone.
    
  • Then the citizens get to vote on who they want to kill. Generally, the target is Kira. The person that gets the most votes will be eliminated.
    
  • Repeat.
• In the end, if L survives, he (and the remaining citizens) win.
  
• If Kira kills L or the citizens kill L, Kira wins.
  
• Dead people may vote.
  
• Kira and L are also allowed to vote in order to avoid suspicion.
  
• People who aren't in the round can't vote.
  
• When a person has to leave or quits, they are written down as suicide.
  
• Kira or L can suicide but cannot use their powers to kill/eliminate himself.
  
• In the case that L or Kira needs to suicide, his powers will be relinquished and the host will pass them on. The other players are not to know that L or Kira has switched.
  
• Please BOLD your votes citizens.

True. As far as round time goes, that's entirely up to how active/responsive people are. Especially the Kira and L.

I think I'll start it once we have 8 or more people.

This sounds like a Mafia/Werewolf game variant. It should be identified as such.

Also notice that we already tried a more simple version of Mafia 'round these parts and it failed to get past the first few days. I suppose some animu flavor might encourage activity and participation, but I doubt it will help too much. Good luck.

ps you really should have balance in mind more when coming up with these things... you can't just decide to have two killers and have n amount of people playing. You should decide from the beginning a set amount of "townspeople" to play along with your two killers so that someone other than one of the two killers has a chance of winning. Also, I notice you don't have endgame conditions clarified; what are the conditions under which Kira wins? L wins? The townspeople win, I suppose, is clear enough in that they need both L and Kira to be dead, but couldn't Kira and L force the townspeople to be ENTIRELY unable to win by simply suiciding at the end, knowing their powers will be passed on to someone else, and this new person will not have left ANY clues as them being a killer, because up until that point, they will not have been?

Just seems really broken overall.

The townspeople win if L wins. That's how I understood it. And from what I've seen, L and Kira have around equal win rate. I'm pretty sure the odds don't actually change much with the number of townspeople, since whichever way it is they have an equal chance to kill Kira as they do L.

I dunno. I didn't design the game.
