One of our biggest problems was losing 2 out of 3 bishops before the run started. Any tips critiques on what we can try to push closer to killing her will be appreciated.

Seems like you guys underestimated her by a large margin, from what Ang said at the end of the 3rd video.

Nah. Everything went pretty smoothly until two things happened, both around the same time. 1) map wide 50k's for no reason. 2) no 3rd instructor spawned.

map wide 50ks for no reason? Explain, because I just skimmed all 3 vids so I either missed it or Ang's recording blackout'd during the aoe. Tongue
Also I wouldn't be surprised if the 3rd instructor didn't spawn due to you guys doing way too much DPS / DPM to the empress.

The 50ks don't show up on anyone elses screen. I was on the right side and like 5 or 6 people just dropped dead with no numbers or anything. I was the only one spared. :/

We didn't even underestimate her either. I knew we would all die and so did they. The problem is our entire crash team didn't have a bishop and neither did the other party with me and some other warriors. One of the bishops wasted his key by going in before all of us, and the other had to go.

Also i think for the next run we should just not even touch her. Hang around until she summons and then wail on it.

@12:41 first vid. Right after iKevDB dies from something, InFearNFaith gets hit with a 50k right beside him and he doesn't roar or anything, and there's no damage reflect up on Empress. If you look at Ang's minimap, you'll see pretty much everyone start floating.

EDIT: WHOOOO!! Water ftw babeh.

If we go about killing the instructors to kill empress what should our game plan be for the 1.65 instructors? The warrior damage reflects in that form, the archer and thief can stun for 15 seconds with insane range, and the mage is just a b'itch in general with seal and spam meteo. We can just attack all 5 at once but i feel they would be deadlier. Should we separate them? 2 on one side 3 on the other to minimize risk? We would be slower i think but it could work if we split the squad accordingly. Ideally i think we want warrior mage and pirate on one side and archer/thief on the other. Ranged can snipe at them and not get stunned and mobbers can attack the mobs the mage will summon.

She only summons 1 instructor at a time. Gotta kill it to bring her out of her stasis so she can summon another.

You kill each 600m instructor individually and when they're all dead and cygnus is near dead she summons all of them at once with 1.65b each and new abilities. 4/5 can't summon mobs though so we won't get overrun.

I was talking this over with a friend of mine yesterday, I... sort of have party set-up strategies but I doubt they work. I was thinking Aran, Evan, BaM, Shadower, someone with SE, and a paladin/DrK party (not sure how long zombify lasts for and Evan can revive anyway with Soul Stone, paladin provides Threaten and CO, DrK provides HB). Is this serviceable or am I retarded? XD

Having a party of crashers sounds like a good idea, didn't think of that.

The evan is better off in a party full of warriors+bish because crash is necessary and lettering affects the exped anyway. Either that or the ranged party, but that's where the BaM would be.

But DR never hits for the max of the range it specifies. o.o For empress it's 500~50500 or something. Plus none of them attacked so they couldn't have set it off.

I'm thinking it activated long before the icon showed up. How do multi-hit attacks interact with DR?

It might depend on the attack but with demo and barrage DR only hits me once.

Perhaps, but if you look at the minimap, you'll see pretty much everyone die right around the same second as that 50k hits InFearNFaith.

As for your party setup suggestion.

aran, evan, bam, drk, pally, se.

Not sure what the aran is there for. Evan is good, we wanted to bring one but they were unable to make it. Evan would be good in any party though, probably better in ranged party because they can atk from a distance, and use that mp heal cloud thing. When I was attacking, I potted almost exclusively for mp, because I had an awesome bishop.
Bam is good for ada and shield, ideally one in each pt but whatever. Shield is beast.
DrK, who wouldn't want hb? But most of us have self hb. What I noticed was that the instructors and their summons were doing sub 10k if you didn't like, walk into them. Meaning you're totally safe if you have a bish (speaking form ranged), so ranged was pretty much golden without hb (all have self hb or enough clean hp), and thus the drk can be in crashers pt.
Pally for CO and threaten and all that tanking ability is invaluable. As many as you can get is still not enough, lol.
SE, melee party doesn't need se. The SE should be in ranged party with a bish.
Shad, smoke is lovely. Shad should be in melee party and Bam should be in ranged party. When it's time to let empress out so she can summon, smoke would be fantastic. Imo, a shad in melee party would be a great addition.

Here's the problem; ultimately you need these people to exist. How many 19x Shads do you? Evans? Arans? Legit BaMs? Even dropping the requirement to the minimum level 170 it's tough to find a couple. Then finding some that are competent bossers, can follow instructions, aren't idiots that'll steal any loot that may drop, the number of potential runners drops. Include that ideally you want a bish in each party, how many bossing bishops do you know that are 17x+? It's reall tough to find these people, and enough of them.

Personally, ideal parties would be 3 pallies, 1 drk, 1 shad, 1 bish. 1 se, 3 nl's, 1 bam, 1 bish. 1 se, 3 nl's, 1 bam, 1 bish.

However, that's not really a realistic scenario.

The only problem with Evans is that Blaze's range is BEYONDDDDDDDD terrible. You would need to stick them up close because thats how we attack with blaze.

I think you guys could try and attack her on the other side, seems like people can't respawn because of so many monsters in their way.
