Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread

I'll have to say now that Foopah is actually pretty decent, actually, not like before when he ended 1 kill/12 deaths/7 assists or something.

It's even more ironic that he says he doesn't want to play with people who don't want to work / play as a "team", yet dodging is, more or less, the exact same thing. Dodging just means you too don't want to work / play as a "team" with the other folk.

I do what I do to make this game enjoyable for me. What I do in solo-que is for my own self-gratification. I doubt I will be getting into any Ranked games soon as my learning curve is somewhat distorted from 12 levels of hack'n'slash play. I've been posting my .lrf files when I can with my SS, so I can backup the games I've been in, good AND bad.

I've never played full on PVP strategy games like LoL in my life, so this game is completely new to me. Instead of criticizing, why not offer suggestions so I can become better at playing this game? Being counter-intuitive and bashing me isn't going to make me a better player.

I will say this: Jin and Cam (Shinzenn and Paralysis117) have been very helpful to me in giving me tips and advice on how to play better at this game. The games we have played haven't all been wins, but that's ok because they realise that some games are meant to be lost and not everyone can win every game. To the Pros who do, well, I hope I can be at that level one day.

So I'm pretty sure I suck with Nocturne. Even though I've won most of my games with him I end up with negative scores and more assists than kills. I must be doing something wrong but I'm just not sure what...

Gah I hate people who are too stubborn to learn, this guy I talked about a few posts ago, the one who was awesome when we were in our 20s (level), well he sticked to that playstyle and now he sucks. I told him tips to change but he replied with a "well pineapple you" and started a solo queue.
He first told me to check his runepages cause they were "legit" as he said. I checked them and they were like this: Page 1 FULL flat AP, 2 FULL flat CDR, 3 FULL flat mana, 4 Magic pen reds and quints, rest flat ap, then a reds and quints AS with rest flat mana, and then 3 pages for "Annie", "Cass", and "kat".
I told him he had to balance his pages more because some weren't good, like the mana one. He said it was for Ryze and that I was stupid cause that mana helped him more than what I said (Magic pen, for example). Then I told him that if he wanted to have better games (His history was full of negative KD ratios and several losses) he had to build some defense (he didn't have a SINGLE defense item in all of his match history, and he doesn't have any defense runes and I bet he doesn't take def. masteries, seriously, 0Armor and 0 MR, he didn't even have a tenacity item, not even items built offensively but with armor/MR).

Smartcast too good? I don't know how fast a normal player can unload all their skills with QWER being smartcast, so I'm just assuming at this point

I get a latency of .2-.3 seconds or so between clicking and Anivia's Glacial Storm appearing for me, and that spell does not have a cast time whatsoever.

You want a helpful suggestion? STOP QUEUE DODGING!
The rest of improvement falls on your shoulders, only YOU can make yourself a better player regardless of the advice given to you. Just because Jin and/or Cam have been giving you advice doesn't mean you're automatically more skilled than beforehand. You have to take the initiative to make yourself learn as well.

We're only giving you a hard time, because you're being extremely ironic, and rather selfish, in your wording. The problem with dodging is you're not only ruining your own experience, but 9 other players as well, but you seem to only be thinking about yourself when you dodge. "Person X doesn't want to work as a team, so I'm out."

Ugh, how do I beat Brand mid as Cait? I just got destroyed by him. I kept on last hitting, alright, but somehow he ended more with more last hits even though he kept on pushing. Even though he pushed he didn't attempt to push the turret, which means no gank attempts. I kept on struggling to dodge his fire-coming-out-of-the-earth thingy, but he was amazing at using it to hit me. Meanwhile, I kept on missing my Q, and the only time I could use it to hit him was because he got stuck by minions. The second I attempt to harass him with my regular attack, boom! I get hit by his fire-coming-out-of-the-earth thingy, because my animation is too damm long. It's terrible! I fed him like...4 kills, despite buying hellload of pots. I even brought Mercury Treads, dammit.

When in big trouble like that early, buy a negatron cloak, no need to turn it into banshee's or anything, just get one, or if he's way too fed, get a second one, the high MR for only 740 gold will eventually make you resist more than he can.

When you get used to his pillar thing, you get quick enough reactions to run out of it before it pops.

Play him once and learn his range and you can dodge everything he throws at you. After you dodge an attack, counterattack as cait you've the range for it. You can't honestly tell me that you've never dodged a normal game because it had stupid teammates on it. (example: jungle heimer (yes it's possible doens't mean it should be used), rally/revive) Playing a game like that won't be any fun and may just turn into a quick surrender at 20 minutes. That nets him a total of... what.... 50ish mpen? 1 negatron cloak brings you back from that. merc's undoes all of his runepage.

@SolicShooter: In defense, Josh is not being hard on him. In fact, Foopah needs that treatment, and this part will explain why.

To Foopah: You can cry all you want about us bagging on you. But I'm going to have to make this blunt since you're simply not budging:

Right now, you haven't been improving. In fact, last time I played with you, you simply committed a lot of mistakes and fed quite a bit. Those mistakes were too obvious - in fact, you committed so many basic mistakes - that I decided not to bag on you for that since it was too late to do anything. Right now, I'd rather not play with you if you're going to keep your attitude like this. I'm not going to waste my effing time seeing things fall apart in 20 minutes. That's a waste of my precious time. I'd rather solo queue into a normal game or even play a solo queue ranked game than going with you.

And if this sounds really mean right now, you're going to get more flak from us if you don't wake up and see what you're doing wrong. In fact, right now you're just self-denying and trying to point mistakes to others. And you only care about yourself. How disgusting is that. I don't like players who express that type of behavior.

Oh and if you do plan to play ranked, please save yourself from suffering a coup de grace in there. You will not survive in there. And if you think the criticism we're giving you is bad right now, no one will come and save your ass in ranked. There's people in there that are very vociferous in their criticisms in ranked. People will hate on you very hard for what you do. You won't enjoy your time in there, trust me.

And that's coming from someone right now who has played a good share of ranked games, yet is asking and finding ways to self-improve in ranked. For instance, I asked Kaj yesterday on LoL about ways to improve in ranked, and he told me to start playing certain carry champs if possible. I'm now practicing a bit more on carry champs I see a lot in ranked games in the hopes that I could start doing better in ranked games.

Have you asked enough help from us people here? Have you even improved? At this moment, the answer is "I don't think so"

1. Alright, I guess i'll just go for a Mercury Treads and one Negatron cape.

2. Couldn't tell if it was Ashe mid or Brand mid >_<. Made a big mistake.

3. He moves back right after he casts that flame pillar thingy, so he's out of range.

4. He never used any of his spells on minions, amazingly. He saved his MP for me. He was the best Brand I ever faced. Kudos to him for mastering him much more better than I could master Cait.

5. I hope Brand comes out for free week soon, so I can see his range.

Guess I'll try to improve at last hitting, too. It's so annoying to judge the minion's hp with Cait at levels 1 + 2 because usually I leave the minion with like, what, 5 hp. Alright, thanks for the tips. I've been playing tank Cho'Gath wayyyy too much. Too used to tanks -_-.
