Last year they gave out AWESOME STATUES. This year they give us PINS and won't even bring over 3 good wii games. Nintendo, I'm starting to hate you.

Phantom Ganon is so dumb. Every time he popped out id miss him with arrows. I ran out and for reasons unknown they dont give you any refills and it was impossible to hit him with the hookshot so i just had to save and close the game :/ dunno where i'll respawn but it was lame regardless.

He spawns in two pictures. Shoot at the one he doesn't turn around in (wait til he's at the end, if you see a portal then shoot. Otherwise dodge.)

Like shoot as hes coming out the portal? I tried L Targetting while he was going across the room so i kept missing :o

And i dont get why they dont let you get refills. When i played Wind Waker i remember if you had a boss where you needed to use bombs or arrows if you ran out the boss would drop some more or spawn enemies to give more :/ weird they wouldnt think of that for this remake.

Yes, as soon as you see the portal you shoot. Don't try targeting him while he's flying.

I am a tad late for the party, but still. An entire world of gamers think differently about OoT. Is it up to standards with todays games? Maybe not. Was it the best game of its kind during that era? Undisputable. I agree that the Zelda franchise is a little overrated, but OoT as a N64 game, compared to the games of that decades, is not. I realise you are voicing oppinions here but for the love of god, stop making it sound like facts when nothing really backs it up.

An entire generation also thinks Twilight is amazing. Just because the masses say it doesn't make it so.

I love the Zelda series, but I'm not sure why, really. It's just ingrained in players that they should love it. But realistically, Ocarina of Time was (and is) a clumsy game. It wasn't anything revolutionary. It came out in 1998 -- there had been lots of platform/adventure games on the playstation already doing most of the things Zelda did for 3 years previous. Sure, many of them were likely inspired by older Zelda games, as it is sort of the origin of adventure games, but the problem is it hasn't evolved since, oh, A Link to the Past. It's ALWAYS the same formula. Ocarina of Time was no different, all it changed was 3D aesthetics. Even LttP covered the change of landscape (light/dark worlds) so it's not like that was unique to OoT. The story wasn't even compelling. It was weak and held together by brief interactions long times a part with very little direction.

Was Ocarina of Time an enjoyable game? Sure, absolutely. Was it something special, or deserving of the honours its held for the last 13 years? Absolutely not. It is mediocre. And please, if you disagree, explain why you think it is special because I'm really struggling to think of anything that it did uniquely and well.

The best thing OoT did was inspire great games like Alundra 2 which used many of the same mechanics, added more and had a deep story.

Eh Ocarina of time was the first Zelda game I ever played it was sweet then and is now, but the sequel Majora's mask is the best game in that series and is the best game of all time even if it was somewhat short if you didn't do anything but the main story.

The story was a lot better than ocarina of time in ways and I mean all of the story which includes every npcs quests. Parts were funny, some cute, and some horribly depressing. The dungeons were very well thought out and fun masks improved the gameplay in all the right ways (though the whole beginning is annoying as a Deku) I still love to swim as a zora and roll as a goron. The time elements where somewhat revolutionary sure games did the go back in time stuff but not to this effect where it felt right and useful and certain events only happened at certain times on certain days which was interesting.

The darkness freaked me out as a kid and still does the atmosphere was excellent The whole time and the moons face just added to the impending doom by freaking you out more. The last day scared me because the moon was so close and music was sped to a heart quickening pace. As said the story sometimes went in a dark direction during side quests this just adds to your emotions as you respond to that npc pretty much never seeing his loved one again because you failed. Oh and a random thing that you might find pathetic I needed my mother to help on the alien part because it freaks me the hell out and still does...so I still ask her to do it.

And that's why I am a huge fan of Zelda because I want another game like Majora's mask..and Fierce Deity mask is the most awesome thing ever on any of those games. Kinda wish they remade Majora's mask instead.

I would actually agree that Majora's Mask was revolutionary because it DID a lot of different things. That mask system and how it changed gameplay was spectacular.
