Signs of Alien PQ coming back?
Kalovale Wrote:Except those 3rd tier weapons are essentially 2nd-tier in terms of WATK.

You can easily perfect any weapon regardless of how high the atk/m.atk is, but I get your point. Still not game-breaking to me. They're essentially stat-less 130 gear without the set bonuses.

Viaje, I'll amuse you for the sake of amusing you.

I was talking in a general sense; if you decide to hack into someone's database, say PSN, don't cry home to mother when you have the FBI or whoever at your front door.

I've learned that your arguments tend to stretch on uselessly for many posts, so I'm ending it here: What I said wasn't an application to MapleStory, or any other game. It was a generalization that people should remember.

They're tradeable also, which is a major point for me.

Also, an exploit/hack/whatever doesn't need to be gamebreaking for people to get upset about it. The fact that people have had these weapons before makes the actual rewards less of an issue. The more engrossing aspect of this was the debate that sparked from taking advantage of an exploit/hack/whatever no matter what the scale, that's why this thread has gone on so long.

Let's compare this to Goblin PQ.

I have yet to see a simple and rational justification for hacking/smooching off hackers.
Shame on you, even if it's not that gamebreaking.

Except it can. I'm actually doing it. Right now. I'm entirely and openly passive to the situation.

oh well that's too far broken and it's a secure ban

Just because you're dumb doesn't mean PirateIzzy, Chocl and ANYONE ELSE WHO HAD THE IDEA IN THEIR MIND are as well, though I dare not venture a guess myself, just basic logic here.
If they didn't catch it, too f'ucking bad but it's not my business. I did what my conscience told me to do. Even if my audience wasn't quite catching up, it still does not change what I wanted to say and actually said, which is exactly what you DID miss.

Making it any more obvious would defeat the WHOLE goddamned purpose of subtleness.

And why would it matter if I later did call the OP out on being overly defensive? The fact is that I did NOT mean to call him out and did NOT call him out in that exact post I referred to. THAT, buddy, does not change. You chose to dispute THAT and ended up horribly, demonstrably wrong.

That's cool lets just say i was subtly assuring lyric that he hadn't crossed any lines. Because altering the affect my words had on you by later clarification is totally the same as not having said them to you at all totally. My intent was to clear up confusion. You needed to address two and only two people. You didn't. As a result various people felt threatened. I pointed that out while attempting to illustrate that lyrics usage of the word great didn't have a positive connotation as shinku thought it did. You accused me of having poor comprehension. I said lolno that's what actually happened. And expounded that your attempted subltness just came off as on open threat to a couple of those who didn't do anything wrong. My comprehension was never relevant nor was it ever the issue. The facts then upset you. You hashed out some unneeded bitterness on my visitor messages and in this post. And here we are.

How degraded and corrupted have our community fallen to is amazing. Like Sarah, I remain the voice of reason and not fall for this disgrace.

What you have or haven't seen personally really doesn't affect anything. Besides i can show you several and you should know they exist. There are sites and forums dedicated soley to hacking this game. The community has always been there. This just a case of some of those values bleeding into the majority of the general public or even an adapt to survive/if you can't beat them join them mentality. If anyone is to blame for the situation being what it is, it's Nexon. You as a player don't have the right to force your veiwpoints or values onto other players, or even to enforce rules. That is soley Nexons job. They have failed and continue to fail at it. Expecting players to pretend otherwise just because you are is ridiculous. Refusing to accept that being the "new" status quo in a game just makes you an ass.

Uh all societies are this way. Real life, and Maple. You're not an Authoritative Figure in real life nor are you one in Maplestory. The most you have the power to do is report someone to the real authorities. Nobody here is arguing you cannot do that, nobody here is saying that what they are doing is in the right. What they are saying is they have come to realize that maplestory is just a game and they have removed it from the high pedestal they once sat it upon. What that means is they don't care if they get banned, and they will not complain if they DO get banned. In real life do you go up to drug dealers and constantly remind them they are doing something illegal? In real life do you go up to people smoking weed, sniffing coke, or partaking in any illegal activity every time they do it to let them know it's against the law? The answer is No and i'll call bull pomegranate to anyone who dare say yes. What people do in society is report people to the authorities and leave them to do their job.

Nexon obviously has addressing illegal activities on maplestory on the lower end of their list of priorities. Continue reporting if you have the patience to nobody is bashing you for doing so but what people want you to do is stfu and leave them to do what they will. The only reason most (yeah i said most) people even speak out as boldy as they do is because this is online and because everyone knows they're "safe" behind their computer screen.

@Octopusprime : Just leave that argument be, the individual obviously isn't grasping what has been laid out step by step for them. They don't seem to want to give it up either seeing as you both have some history or whatever.

I think this is not meant to be happening. I don't support going to the VPQ, but I'd say let more people go and hopefully Nexon deals with them... hopefully.

I'd like to and I gave him and kept open the option of me never responding to his posts again before this thread even started but it isn't in my personality to just not respond when i feel someone is attacking my character or actions or putting them in an disadvantaged light. I don't want to just globally ignore him as i think he does contribute to various threads and discussions despite whatever feud we may have. I'm willing to do so if that is what he wants, however.

So I went to page 5 but I already see how this thread is going to go.

>>>Someone finds out an exploit.

>>>People abuse it.

>>>People say it's a glitch (most notably, Sarah, and Eos, but I didn't see Eos in this thread yet)

>>>Abusers try to justify that it's not a glitch. If they can't do that they say that it hardly affects anyone or anything.

>>>Debate goes on for a while.

>>>Nexon bans abusers.

>>>Abusers whine that they didn't know it was a glitch or some other bs.

>>>Cycle repeats.

Seriously. This happened over, and over, again. I'm getting tired of this. Abuse it if you feel like it, but don't whine to us if you get banned.

Actually there is a pretty marked change in attitude from a lot of people i think.

i will be pissed if VPQ is part 5 of chaos.

It's even more sad that people are actually starting to nit-pick as to what's an exploit or not, even more so than normal. Better start reading in between the lines!

This "nit-picking" also serves as an evaluation of the severity and can therefore be used to gauge nexons reaction. It is, once you've crossed the threshold of playing the game in a way that is most the personally advantageous way, a part of risk-assessment. Same goes for somone who is flat out hacking really. The logic follows that the severeness of the crime mandates the severeness of the punishment after all. While this may be black and white to you, i think it is ignorant to refuse to acknowledge that it may not be for other players.

You're right there. Nexon needs to make this issue black and white. They need to stop standing around picking their noses when people do pomegranate like this. They need to outright ban them permanently. These people don't care about the game. You've all said so yourselves -- all that matters is what's best for you. There shouldn't be any risk assessment involved. They need to put the fear of god into you and make you know that if you do wrong YOU WILL BE PUNISHED SEVERELY.

It's ironic that a company that cares so little about customer retention is so afraid of removing people from the game, really.

Also I hate that you people are making me side with Nexon. This company is the devil and yet you are all being SOMEHOW WORSE.

No one will be banned. When people were abusing happyvile for making 8 star items. Nexon had to go to those maps manually and try to ban people. Nexon cant record what everyone is doing. Also the people that choose to do this are not even close in the wrong to damaging the economy or game compared to dupers and hackers that hack bosses. So what if they can pq it will not be hurting you one bit.

Ha ha street and Sarah are on different sides, even though they are on the opposite side of what they are both on usually.
