1/ Does anyone else use it?

2/ I personally like the features. The only thing stopping me from mass printing my new business cards is the chance of Google going commercial on this product. Sure, I can just cancel the service, but what will be of my contacts? Won't they keep calling my Google Voice number and hearing automated responses? Is there a way around this problem that I'm not aware of (perhaps an offer from Google to forward the calls, free of charge regardless)?

I highly doubt Google will go commercial on Voice. It's been around for a pretty long time and they have never indicated an intention to do so. Usually Google is upfront about those kinds of things. They have to be, for that very reason. They stated it would remain free.

I remember reading an article saying basically "Google has decided to go free on Voice for another year!", so yeah.

Oh...yeah, that would be the stipulation. I forgot about that. It was free until Dec. 2010 then they extended it for a year. What features, I have no idea. I kept thinking it was always free for U.S. and Canada.

Oh, that's just calling in Gmail? Essentially a Skype's counterpart? That's kind of a relief, I think I will start giving out my google number. I could do without free VoIP calling.

Ask google. Their reps are usually really informed and honest about these kinds of things.

I use it because I get to send SMS messages. It's really nice.
