I really want to try using mods in my minecraft after watching a ton of yogcast videos. But curse being down for like 5 fking days has kept me from doin this.

The Aether mod is now officially released: Clicky

I've been watching this mod since it was first announced, and I was so excited to hear it was coming soon when PaperbatVG (YouTube LPer) did some episodes of him playing a Beta version of the Aether and it was spectacular.

Anyways, while it is officially released, I'd suggest waiting a little bit for some bug fixes first, cause there are a number of issues. For one, Zephyrs have their spawn set way too high, you could look up and see like 50 of them flying around, so it also causes immense lag to the point of where it's unbearable. The Portal spawn in the Aether also seems to be bugged, where it'll just spawn in the middle of no where, with no land for miles.

Yah I just downloaded it a couple hours ago. I'm going to play it after I finish procrastinating =P

So... after spending about 6 hours in the Aether today, I've had quite a bit of fun. I've tried the bronze and gold dungeon bosses and they are pretty intense. The gold dungeon boss will woop your ass at least 5 times guaranteed lol. Good thing that his health pool doesn't get reset in between pulls.

There are some pretty bad bugs though. The lag is crazy. For some reason it spikes way way more than it should in single player. Mob spawn is also a pretty critical problem. In version 1.0.0, the cloud thingies were spawning in crazy numbers making the game lag and you die very fast. After they released 1.0.1, the mob spawn became crazy slow and the poison plants do not spawn at all which you need to feed your Moas
