TF2 Thread, now featuring HALLOWEEN!
chrome Wrote:a lot of the time sticky traps only work when they're trying to quick cap. personally i rarely set up sticky traps, but that's mostly because i play demo as a frag class instead of a blow-shit-up class (i frag with the normal launcher from close range, single/double sticky from long range)
I usually just set them up when defending payload - I'll be able to set up a certain spot along the track early on (usually within the tunnel, so they won't have much maneuverability then set it off to set them back a bit. I'll also set them up as a last ditch effort if they're not around at the time.

@Secun - I haven't read a single thing about how to play as a Demoman. Just do some practice to figure out how everything works, then dive right in. I'm doing terrible right now - but I'm enjoying every moment of it.

Well, gonna download overnight then.

And tomorrow... I'm playing a Pyro.

I think scout is the hardest class to play effectively.... or sniper.

I hate engineers.

TF2 is indeed a lot more stupid thanks to all the f2p players. in public servers none of them play the objective; me and my friend had to hold the second point on gorge by ourselves for like 10 minutes.

either way, is anyone up for a game maybe later this week? we could rent a short-term server or something. as for my own achievements, i actually did something useful as a sniper and (nearly) assisted a cap. sadly, my team was ALL F2P PLAYERS AND NONE OF THEM GOT ON THE POINT WHEN I KILLED BOTH ENGINEERS, A LEVEL 3 SENTRY, AND A DEMO THAT HAD SIX DOMINATIONS. UGHHHHHHHH

EDIT: @above spy is definitely the hardest class to play when you're new, since you have this feeling of "omg must stay hidden" and have to know which targets are priorities. snipers aren't hard, they're just very inappropriately used 90% of the time. imo snipers and spies should only be used to open up a capping opportunity (aka late game); only under some circumstances (or if they're really good) should they be used any earlier. scout is easy, just flank.

as for new weapons, i haven't gotten into any of them except the tomislav; oh my god this weapon feels so OP it's not even funny. NO wind up time and you don't do much less damage than a minigun. combined with the GRU and with a medic you can ninja cap in places like dustbowl.

Well, before I go ingame and start being like "Oh god wat do", what class would you consider the most noob-friendly?

medic or pyro; heavy is a stretch.

And here I always thought Heavy was the most noob-friendly class.

Heavy is easier on open maps, and pyro is easier on maps with tight spaces.

Played an Engineer, I love it. Gonna try Heavy soon (Just got Natascha)

Heavy is easymode. Takes no skill, hold down and point.

I actually play spy the best l0l. It might be because I've played him literally 90% of the time I play tf2, but he just seemed to be in my kind of playstyle. I really want to get better at scout, but I always seem to do poorly in terms of kills, but I do okay in assisting the team through harassment.

You (and anyone else here) can go ahead and add me on steam if you want to play, I'm not a premium member yet, so i can't add friends :\

Holding your strafe buttons while spamming the left click mouse button is hard.
Regardless, it's a joke if you think TF2 requires any skill whatsoever.
Strategy? Yes.
Skill? LOLno.
