Waste of Time!

What are some things you've done in MapleStory that you would consider a waste of time?

As in, something you could have done without..
Or something you wished you hadn't spent time on..
Or something you bought that became useless..

And don't say MapleStory in general, cus we all know that

I'll start, as an example..
I wish I hadn't spent so much time/effort on my character (now useless) in Demethos~
And I wish I didn't buy permanent NX for him
And I wish I didn't spend all those hours training at Bains the week before LHC came out :f3
.. should've stuck to bossing Papulatus only

Choosing (and raising) a cleric as my first character.

Nothing.
Everything I've done in Maple, I've enjoyed my time well spent. The only thing people could classify as a "waste of time" that I've done would be the artifact hunt

Cubing various items. Should have spent it on WGs and used that to barter for stuff.

Attempts at making 3-line level 100 pirate gloves with over 10 attack scrolled. Sooooo much money wasted because I had to fulfill TWO conditions.

I think I enjoyed less than 25% of my time on Maple, though some of the fun times were toward the end, so not sure whether it's ever playing the game or just playing too much. I mean, I can't stand pressing about two buttons for 4+ hours in one spot, and that's what the game is primarily about. But all that grinding is also what allowed me to participate in the fun things, which were the early days of Zakum runs, VPQ...not a whole lot comes to mind. Can't say anything specifically was a waste of time except maybe some failed scrolling projects, because I kinda enjoyed it at the time.

Not quitting out of frustration when 2x cards first came out.
Letting people who called me a moron for doing alternate builds get me down to the point where I temp quit.
Trying to find a community that has decent people [lol] and actually does things together outside of 24/7 LHC camping.
Quest Specialist medal, dear god.
Old Saint Exorcist - I have no idea how long I was looking for ZMM. Just for the card.

Poor choices cubing here also. Though more a case of priorities than buying WGs, since all my NX is in paypal form and can't be used in the MTS.

And blowing up my Reverse Shoe with an enhancement scroll. Wasted all the time I spent making/forging it.


Things I've invested in that became useless... well, I'm a 2handed BW Paladin. Enough said about that. Nexon's pretty much written that option out of the class with skill updates.

I feel bad for all those people who put an endless amount of time into monster card hunting just to have it completely removed.

Preparing for an update, which you haven't gotten an update in much longer than a month, yet Nexon doesn't deliver any kind of game update for the entire month.

Waiting for people on boss runs or party quests because they're late or forgot to do pre-quests. Or something of the like.

Even grinding 1.5% an hour at Gobies was fun because of my buddies.

Nothing.

Wish I hadn't bothered with monster cards--wish I hadn't spent NX collecting them.

Creating new characters to get them to 36 to sell GFAs, it gave me money, yes but that money got scamed out of me ):

Friggin' Monster Book. I'll never forget all the time I spent hunting for those damn cards. Sometimes, just one Monster Card was a total pain to find and I could spend up to 4 hours hunting for one. Cynical Orange Mushrooms were a total pain in the ass. Despite the spawn being so good, I spent hours and hours without finding one.

Also, a lot of quests prior to Big Bang getting reset was also a real pain. It basically took all of the time I put into questing and made it useless. It's not to say they were a waste to do before, as Alcaster's quest was very important and I made a fair deal of money from quest rewards- but it's that there were really annoying quests and lots of other quests I did that weren't that great, but ate up a lot of the time I spent to have a good quest count, and then almost all of it became meaningless.

besides that, i only do what i enjoy doing, but i have made some poor economical choices ~_~

Doing the quests that got me a Mark of Heroism. It was well worth it at the time, but then that mass hacking happened during the Aran event and I lost all of the my set-up quest items (and other stuff, but I really only cared about the lost quest items). Now I feel like I'm wasting time every time I go through that annoying CWK jump quest.
