Chaos is coming, and it’s bringing a lot of questions with it! To help clarify how the update will affect the game, we asked our community to submit their questions in regards to Chaos. See the answers below! While we also received a lot of questions about the Age of Artisan and the Age of Battle, we will release those answers closer to their respective launch dates.

Q: In Tespia, during the battle of Empress Cygnus, I found that her Knights are very hard to kill. Will those minions be nerfed?
A: The Empress Cygnus and her Knights are intended to be some of the most difficult bosses in all of Maple World. They will offer a significant challenge to the strongest players who wish to take them on.


Q: What will happen to our Cygnus Knights now that Empress Cygnus is under the control of the Black Mage?
A: The sad state of the world in which Cygnus and all of her followers have joined forces with the Black Mage is only a possible future. Players above level 160 can travel through the Gate to the Future in the Temple of Time to confront this dark version of Maple World, but the current Maple World and all Cygnus Knights will not be affected.


Q: Is the new Arrow Rain/Eruption animation slower than the current Arrow Rain/Eruption animation?
A: While the method of animation for the effect was adjusted and the area of the effect was increased, the length of the skills effectiveness has not changed.


Q: For classes that are getting their skills revamped, what will happen to our skills points that were put into skills that now have a lower mastery level?
A: SP spent on skills that now have lower mastery will be returned to you to use as you wish. However, please note that you will only receive enough SP to allow you to max all skills in any given job.


Q: Will Dual Blades get a skill reset?
A: No, but all players will have the chance to get a full SP reset during the Hot Time! Event.


Q: When the new worlds arrive with the Chaos update, will El Nido, Zenith and Arcania be allowed to use the MTS and/or world transfers?
A: We still feel that El Nido, Zenith, and Arcania are not ready for MTS access at this time. However, world transfers to and from these worlds will be available after the Chaos update. Any world transfers to and from these worlds that were purchased in the past will be processed during the maintenance.


Q: Why are Arans, Evans and Dual Blades getting buffed when they are already very powerful?
A: The job rebalance for Aran, Evan, and Dual Blade is not about making them more powerful than other classes. Our goal was to make sure that all classes have a similar power scale; this does not mean that we want all classes to play the same or do exactly the same amount of damage. Each class has its strengths and weaknesses, but some classes were too different at certain levels and needed to be adjusted.

Ugh. Why? WHY

Did they reset all the dualblade skills auto during chaos for kms? Also dont you just have to be on during the hot time event? If your dedicated to the game enough you will find a way to be on during the hot time event. Also during big bang they give out the sp resets AFTER stating that you would only get it from the hot time event. So just be patient

Yes they did in kMS. They always do in kMS. gMS is the only one that pulls off this bullshit.

As for Big Bang, this is different. There will be a lot of anger soon, I can see it. Mainly from the pre-chaos dual bladers, evans, and arans. Other classes aren't affected as much but still.

The Hot Time event wasn't a light bulb, it was an automatic pop-up. Where you even around for the old Hot Times? (Doesn't sound like it.) <_<

It wont be hard to give all chars a sp reset. So if they see a demand for it they will send them out like for big bang. I know it was stated that we would not get the skill resets for big bang. Then a few days later they pull that suprise sp reset event.

its not about the practicality of the hot time events, but rather the fact they're being unreasonable with this.

As Locked said, every other version of ms had their skills reset so that everyone can properly allocate their SP. And really, what reason is there NOT to reset all the skills? Other than perhaps some people who didnt have messed up skillbuilds complaining about all the clicking they have to do to put their SP back into their skills. And even then, I think those are in the minority.

And really, I don't want to stay home on a Saturday waiting for a free SP (even though as a BM, I dont need it). Whatever the reason is, I think it comes down to money (forcing people to buy SP resets), or them trying to break their own record for most people logged on at one time or something, both of which are silly reasons.

Yeah, ok, most characters don't need a full SP reset at this point. And some people might "abuse" them to fix characters that they had previously screwed up, without paying for individual SP resets. Oh noes! Just exactly how many of them are out there, that Nexon is still hoping to see some cash from? Is it really worth getting the community in an uproar for?

There is no downside to having the free SP reset because it's a scroll that you're not forced to use. If someone doesn't need to reset their SP, they don't have to.

This is a lie, by the way. I tested it personally. It just goes to show that Nexon has no pineappleing clue how their game works. The only thing true about this response is the animation has changed.

So how do the hot time events work? Are the times announced beforehand? Random light bulb pop up with no warning, and if you miss it you don't get the resets? I wasn't around during the events last time and /really/ need to fix the skills on my Night Lord. :|

They announce the times. Hot Time event is one minute long. When that one minute passes, you get an automatic pop up (beware, you can die..) from Cassandra and she will give you a box. You need 2 free USE slots, I think. Oh and you can't be in town iirc.

You should be in town, that's where I was. And if you don't have free slots, you can maybe click Cassandra again after emptying your inventory. But it doesn't work for everyone cause lolnexonevent.
