Which am I better off with?

the clean estaff7 I use on my 174 BaM had 12% Total Damage and 8% Magic on it:

but I wanted to recube it and get crit%... 6 cubes later, I got 12% crit and 8% crit:

so now my BaM has 70% natural crit (45 base, + 5 adventurer ring + 20 from staff)... I'm going to cube my timeless gloves for SE which will give me a grand total of 80% crit with the damage boost of lvl 10 SE, or 90% Crit w/ max SE

However, at the moment, my regular damage is about 8k lower than it was before, but I crit more often, but even the crits are lower (this is worthout SE so far)...

with SE, my damage seems to be about the same, but i crit waaaay more often... Should I try to recube out of Crit% and go back to Total Damage?

Does Total Damage + Total Damage stack?
Does Magic % / Magic % Stack?
Crit% stacks... it's sexy :3

Any math crunchers here? lol... Thanks in advance!

I'm almost 100% sure that it was the 8% magic that gave you the boost that you lost (the 8k higher you hit before), but more crit rate is always good, although now is like 150% your normal damage instead of the 200% it used to be but I'm pretty sure the SE from gloves makes that higher and also I would bet other buff would have a bigger impact in your damage with a higher crit rate.

Whatever has 30% boss

Yea except 30% boss is only good while bossing... I'm already devastating to bosses, I'm looking for the best possible training weapon (and PvP)... once I hit level 200, I'll switch it to 30% Boss and/or 15% PDR

You train at LHC.

The 20% critical rate you got is a 1.07x increase in damage. It's significantly shittier than the Magic% alone let alone total damage.

I'm sorry, depending on the expletive you used, that could be a good statement or a bad statement... Could you clarify "Pomegranateier" Big Grin

EDIT: OK hold on, so I'm better off having total damage + Magic % with 50% crit than 80% crit w/ 10% boost? Even though mage crit works multiplicatively?

With 50% Critical Rate, your critical gives an average 1.225x increase. By raising that to 80% and getting 10% maximum damage from level 10 SE, you get a 1.4x increase instead; this is a 1.14x improvement.

With Total Damage +12% and Magic +8%, you get approximately 1.2096x increase in damage.

Ok, so I'll recube my staff before Chaos. Thanks for the information, my next question then is what's the best two combinations for overall damage? I heard Total Damage %'s can't stack with each other, but I assume Magic % can? I should've just left it as total damage % with magic %... fml hard from behind with no ky.. maybe I'll get lucky. thanks for the info
