Battlemage Questions

Advanced Dark Aura
Does the Aura-damage-mob-near-you thingy work on bosses?
And does anyone know how near the mob must be to get damaged?
It ticks every second right? I've seen alot of Battlemage Videos on youtube and only managed to find 1 which showed the Dark Aura damage thingy. Or am I too slow to catch it? :f6:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQG5SA3QX1s << No Aura-damage thingy here

The Finisher
"Inflicts damage on enemies in front of you by firing a ray of light in the shape of a saw wheel. Can only be used after a Blow type skill. Deals more damage when used alongside a high level Blow type skill."
Anyone know how much % damage it does when used with Finishing Blow? (4th Job 6 hitter)

Reaper
Does it work on bosses?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQG5SA3QX1s << No Reaper spawned in here

Conversion and Energize
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQG5SA3QX1s << Weird, at first he has 10k HP, after using Conversion he had 17k.. Isn't Conversion +100% Max HP? Or it ignores the +20% max hp from Energize?

-I don't recall it working on bosses.. =/
-Same range as players have to be to receive the damage buff I believe(200%) (300% post Chaos)
-DoT damage tick is every 1 second. However, DoT damage is applied every 4 or 5 seconds, when your ADA auto recasts itself. DoT damage lasts 4-5 seconds also I believe..

Auto-recasts itself? Isn't it a buff that lasts forever?

It is (unless you manually toggle it off/get Dispelled/DC), but if you pay attention, every X seconds you will see your Aura move from your buff list to the first buff list spot from the right.

Hey it does!
"DoT damage tick is every 1 second. However, DoT damage is applied every 4 or 5 seconds, when your ADA auto recasts itself. DoT damage lasts 4-5 seconds also I believe.."
I am still confused about this statement..
As long you're near the mob, the mob will take x damage every 1 second right? Till it has 1 HP?

DoTs in general tick (deal damage) every second. ADA'S DoT lasts for five seconds. The skill "afflicts" nearby targets in range with the DoT every four or five seconds.

So... Does it affect bosses?

Advanced Dark Aura
-Basically, when it auto-recasts itself, it applies that "poison" to non-boss targets around you.
-That "poison" lasts 4-5 seconds per application, with a tick interval of 1 second.

Conversion (HB as well)
-These apply to your HP without % HP equips/skills, but with static HP boosts such as 200 HP from Master Adventurer medal.

Reaper
-For bosses, it's really useless except maybe a slim amount (& that's if you get lucky) for some mini DPS boost. This is due to the fact of the required condition: Summon upon target's death, in addition to the low chance of summoning.

Oh...
Wait it is upon target's death..?
Summon Reaper Buff
Description: A chance to summon a Reaper when you attack a monster. The Reaper will attack nearby monsters when summoned.

The reaper spawns upon a monsters death. If it would spawn from any regular attack it would be way overpowered at bosses, not to mention the field would be completely filled with reapers. Also, it only works on non-bosses. Using it on Blood Bombs (Pianus) or High/Low Stars (Papulatus) won't work.

If I recall, Finisher used after Finishing Blow deals 760% damage and ignores 20% PDrate (By comparison 6Blow deals 780% (870% after Chaos) and ignores no PDrate). Conversion and Energize are basically +%HP bonuses, which are additive with other +%HP bonuses. Energize + Conversion = +120%HP on top of your base HP + static HP bonus.

It does not affect bosses and no recent patches tells of it ever doing so either so far. Its more or less a useless ability because anything with high hp is usually a boss and only at bosses you'd want some poison ability since regular mobs dies too fast to even make it useful or to come out at all. Other than that, its main uses are the only things people care about, +MA and %dmg.

How does this skill work?
Battle Mastery
You've honed your skills in battle and have now permanently increase your Damage and your Minimum Critical Damage. Passive Skill
Level 20: Damage 30%, Min Critical Damage +20%

I added a point in it but the damage range in my Ability Window still stays the same..
So I assume the bonus 30% damage is hidden?

Yea, it's hidden. It won't change your range but you'll notice your damage go up.

So for Dark Shock at max level : 1000 x 1.3 (Battle Mastery) x 1.6 (Dark Genesis) = 2080% ?? (shitload)
Finishing Blow : 145 * 1.3 * 6 = 1131%
Twister Spin : 1000 * 1.3 = 1300% (It attacks 20 times during the 20seconds right?)
Teleport Mastery : 300 * 1.3 =390%
Dark Genesis : 1800 * 1.3 = 2340%
And if Body Boost (Dark Aura) is active, just add a 1.4 multiplier behind right?

And is it better to spam Finishing Blow or Finishing Blow + Finisher?

Finisher.

I'd just like to share a good combo you may want to try:
Finishing Blow > Tele > Finisher > Tele > Repeat
Utilizes everything useful in a short amount of time when Twister Spin is either CD/low level.

+2, or rather -2(depends how you view it) ><, increases attacking speed by 2

I just realised almost all staves are slower (8) (according to Southperry's database), despite in game tooltip saying its slow.. So.. normal staves are speed 8?

Normal = Blue Marine, Dragon Staff, Reverse/Timeless Aeas Hand, Kage, Dark Ritual, Thorns, Level 130 and 140 staves (basically excluding Elemental Staves and Maple Weapons)

So its 8 - 2 (booster) - 2(Speed Infusion) = 4 (3)*

* With adv. Yellow Aura
