What makes the difference between a solo and support Nen build, other than Khai?

That's pretty much it. I have no Khai and I focus on raw damage instead of supporting a party. Selfish Nen for life.

EX Hit Rate is also a good skill to invest in.

Pretty obvious actually, since missing equals 0 damage and possibly death.

Support Nen simply has all the essentially buffs and defensive skills. As long as you have max Breath/Khai/Nen Guard you're golden as support. I'm not too sure what exactly qualifies as a solo Nen, other than probably the fact they get more skills that are meant to shred up enemies or make them tougher. Such skills are Suplex Thunder for raw power against grabbable enemies, and Spiral Nens for procing more elec damage. Tiger Flash is also an example of a Solo Nen, because it allows them to melee enemies with magic damage that can electrocute enemies.

To build off Mark's point unless you plan on partying with a physical class constantly there really is no need for khai. I have it on mine because of outer dungeons/screaming cave dailies but otherwise it's a waste of points. I would also not recommend Tiger Flash. I have it maxed currently and I just really don't see the need for it, even when I use it I don't see a noticeable difference than if I had been using other spammable skills.

People are saying to un-install Avast, but it's his computer, and I'll have to ask him... and I don't know any replacement for avast that works as well. It works fine on my computer with avast and windows XP too.... Ah well, maybe Rebirth will fix it....

I have Avast on practically all my computers and DFO works just fine. Maybe reinstall DFO, or perhaps there's a firewall blocking you from playing DFO.


**While we're on Nen Masters, here's my planned build. Dropping Tiger Flash for the stunning Lion's Roar, mostly because it seems to have potential in SI with the EX and all that. I'm unsure if I should grab 75 INT and the +10 elemental damage. Nens just have too many good EX skills. Max Iron Physique because free defense and only 300 SP to max. I cropped out the skills I'd never take up for a Nen.

Planning out builds is probably the most crucial part to any character I make. I can't just jump in willy-nilly getting whatever the heck I feel like. I'm not made of money, so I don't aim on making a build that I'd later regret. If I gotta go through a build with a fine tooth comb in order to make sure it will work in the long run and make the character gud enough to enjoy, then so be it.


*I'm probably gonna go crazy thinking up a Twin Swords Rogue build, so yeah I do admit I find enjoyment in coming up with good builds.

I don't wanna spend money on this game on a Lithe's water ever again because I screwed up a build.

Guys, anyone know a good Ice/Light elementalist build?

I presume an Ele, right?

Here are some essentials that I can think of:

Max the following:
Elemental Burn
Disenchant
Florae Circle
Lightning Strike
Astral Storm


Can't think of the what will work for ther rest, since I'm only most familiar with a Light/Dark or pure Dark build. Sorry I can't help more, Dre.

Don't do it. Ice is a TERRIBLE element.

So, I was readan random DFO stuff like I always do when I'm not picking on Aesop, when I came upon the knowledge that Sky Tower used to be a VERY different place a long time ago in DnF. Had to satisfy my curiosity and looked up vidyas.

Ok, so I guess I'll defy my character's name and be Light/Dark.
Why is Ice so bad, though? D:[/COLOR]

Frosty's Head has a small aoe, Ice Walls is fantastic but not really a spammable damage skill, and Arctic Burst is hard to use without a party because monsters can just walk out of it and smack you.

Ice is an alright element, but Ice/Light means you'll be spamming frosty (travel slow and hit 1 at a time), florae (great but mostly on single targets), ice walls, and sunburst (both defensive moves that scatter monsters).
