Dusk Wrote:I thought the level cap was 30... I think so. I just tried to solo the Orc Camp thing. I opened my minimized game and realised I had entered a dungeon. And then took a step forward and pomegranate swarmed the map. And when I got to the next room, I couldn't figure out how they were healing but I managed to kill every non-orc thing and then even more orcs came in. They ended up healing faster than I could DPS, and the Shamans were constantly blocked by the Warriors, the room is stupidly small, and if you get too close to a wall, the camera zooms in and foliage will easily block your view. Fucking hate that. Anyways, I'm level 13, and anyone wanna do some runs somewhere tomorrow? I'm on East, and my ID is ImpulseEXE. I'm also working on a magician and I doubt it'd be able to solo much further.

I missed a day due to being grounded and missed a day purely due to other things making me busy. Tried for 16, but only got to 12. I have this thing where I don't like partying with random people (I guess a few years of Maplestory and bad experiences with randoms did that to me).

The level cap for Beta is 16 but the actual cap for when they game comes out is level 40, I believe the Korean version just got a new job advancement at level 40 and a new level cap of 50.

Well, according to the last in-game notice before the game went down, "the poochums will be back sometime in July"
Poochums meaning servers, so OBT in July.

Enjoyable. I'm sure it's very entertaining with a good party, but randoms doesn't sound very enjoyable. Pretty great pickup like DFO.
I soloed the dungeon with the Gargoyle boss on Abyss before I stopped. Died once at the first stage to the Dark Elves because I have a really hard time telling when they're going to hit me and I don't like wasting my dodge. The circular ring really likes to screw with me getting me stuck on small invisible edges. Otherwise, spent an awesome final boss fight against two Gargoyles. Pretty intense. Would like to have more of those experiences. I ended at level 15 @ ~50% though, and decided to just stop since I didn't have any more empowerment, and I didn't want to spend time after midnight PDT to try more. The title honestly isn't very good. Only thing worthwhile about it is the prestige of the title, rather than the stats.

Eh, I hit 16 rather quickly, but half of my time playing Dragon Nest was solo Master runs.
And yes, the game is great if you have people who know what they're doing. Didn't really have problems with any randoms.

Yeah, 16 doesn't seem hard at all. Just not very rewarding when you can't job advance. I was also discouraged by blowing up my Wanderer's Crossbow (+8 T_T) and not having a decent replacement having to use a Teakwood Shortbow or whatever. Terrible range and damage. I wish sets were more prominent. The Prelude garbage was disgustingly bad.

I used Prelude on my Cleric, then went to Monk Trainee/Monk hybrid armor till I managed to get basically all of my Blue Lion gear (Except the Galero. Never found it). I just got some +7 Vigilante armor for my Warrior and skipped Prelude for +7/+9 Mercenary, because the Prelude set bonuses are really negligable. On the bright side, got my Blue Lion Flail to +7 before the servers went down :>

I had a Kobold Dress and Quiver T_T Would have loved to have had some more time to effort my way to get a Kobold Longbow. Prelude is really bad though. Just get +6 on the nearest weapon and secondary you can find and you're much better suited. Also, from what I hear, Clerics and their advancements rape everyone else in terms of PvM. I may or may not have had 1 Blue Lion Piece, not sure what it was though.

Clerics aren't unkillable, as my Sanctuary Nexus Abyss run told me three times.
But I did tank one of the Darkscreams at the end for about two and a half minutes while the other one was busy with the Sorc.

There wasn't much reason to wear the Prelude set since you couldn't enhance the pieces. +6-ing everything was dirt cheap and gave a ton of health. I just ground out the game doing normal runs and all the commissions. Didn't try any of the dungeons that were unlocked after 16 since I wanted to try out the archer.
CB was fun and pretty smooth. Yeah the gameplay itself isn't groundbreaking, but everything's done well and polished. Sorceress sounds fine - I don't get all the hate directed at her voice. Having the fatigue system trashed by closed beta was a smart move, that bar drains so fast I'm sure it would have turned off a lot of potential players. Awaiting open beta.

My only complaint is that they took the Forums down. Yes it would've been flooded with "wehns open beta?", but better than going on DNSource.
That place is so damn elitist.

I'm pretty sure the fatigue system is working as intended. You just gain incredibly less exp when your fatigue is 0. Otherwise, you'll end up at like 4 Abyss runs per day.
2011-06-20, 11:28 PM
Lol. I can certainly see that. There's almost no moderation either.
I don't think there'd be much to talk about during this lull though. 2 weeks at the shortest. JoeTang Wrote:I'm pretty sure the fatigue system is working as intended. We just get "normal" exp which is I think half of the "empowered" exp we get while the bars not empty.

I only died once to that big-ass Minotaur thing. Almost died to the Harpy girl thing, but I figured out it's easier to take out the two random monsters first and then the boss. I never figured out how to upgrade
. Saved like 80-100 Onyx Fragments but didn't know what to do from there (Checked most of the NPCs around Carderock).
