It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

Yeah I actually had a couple friends that got denied and we all signed up within the same hour WITHIN an hour of the closed beta sign-ups coming out. x_x

Wahey, I got in. Neat.
Thanks for reminding me to check. This was almost like the time that I got accepted into the vindictus beta but never realized it, lol.

I got in.
This game doesn't actually need a powerful computer to run it. I tried out kDN yesterday with my desktop (2GB DDR2 RAM, Intel Dual Core @ 2.2GHz, 1GB Radeon HD 4850) and it runs really smooth. My laptop (4GB DDR2 RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.2 GHz, 256MB GeForce 8600M GT) runs it pretty smooth too.

Are y'all actually excited about this game, or just happy that you got into the Beta? The game looks dated, it doesn't do anything that hasn't been tried by another MMO, and it is entirely devoid of content, even in the Korean version. Lemme know if anyone actually enjoys this game once you start playing it.

I'm in, and the beta goes up at the same time my internet gets installed in the new place I'm moving into. How perfect.

It looks better than maple and less overwhelming than WoW. Also it's new so I won't have that "missing something" feeling.

Tsk tsk Sarah. xP Allthough Dusk's tendency to saw every game (that aint WoW) off by the ankles gets a tad tiresome, I agree with him on this one. This game does not look like it really offer anything new.

Tsk tsk Sarah. xP I have problems with WoW too, but it's clearly doing something right because nothing's managed to dethrone it. I'm not a Blizzard fanboy, I do see potential for GW2 and SWTOR. Also, I'm pretty critical of games in general, please don't get the impression that I go around bashing every game that I don't play. I think I've done some reviews in the "What are you playing?" thread that weren't exactly nice. This game...what does it even have that the first Guild Wars doesn't have? Besides a somewhat more fluid combat system.

Tsk tsk Sarah. xP I don't know enough about Dragon's Nest to say it's not a WoW clone, I was under the impression it was -- just cuter. And all MMORPGs are inherently the same: kill stuff, do quests, level up, beat bosses. Maple just fails horribly at this formula by focusing too much on the one aspect. I would expect Dragon's Nest to have a greater focus on story, questing and raids than the "killing stuff and level up" aspects.

Dragon Nest operates kind of like that - mostly instance based, with adjustable difficulties. That seems to be the recent trend; making the overworld simply a quest/trade/chat hub and funneling everyone into instances for actual gameplay. It definitely limits their creativity as far as questing goes. There's hardly any story, it's like Maple (and the majority of asian MMOs) in that respect. Oh, and it doesn't require that much play time to level cap, but you're hindered by the fatigue system.

There is apparently a story according to the people who have played it and there's no fatigue system as announced by nexon look at the blogs on its website if they are still there...and no peer2peer crap. Though the instanced thing can grow to be annoying it's pretty helpful since you don't have to travel so much to do quests. Anyhow that's your opinion and I respect that also confused a bit did you mean DFO or dragon nest when you where talking about fatigue..I think both games scraped that system. |
