Battle mage only use staff, and the speed attack of staff is important as speed attack of warrior's weapons. Other equipment just like normal mage, idk if you going to be lukless BaM (use lowluk/lukless mage/common gear with int/magic attack like yellow work glove, yellow snow shoes, int bathrobe and such) or not but just look for % int or magic attack stuff if possible
Imo, BaM is warrior class that use staff as weapon, most skills of battle mage is short range (like warrior). The only "mage skills" that BaM have are Teleport (like normal mage - tele a set distance), Teleport Mastery (make monsters where you teleport to get damage and stun) and Dark Genesis (dark version of Genesis - you can try this on your friend's bishop). Beside that, BaM have the aura skills that buff damage of party, increase your own speed attack or increases def/distribute damage received of party members ... which really fun

A BaM is really fun and fairly intensive, quite like an Aran. Holds its ground very very well for 1st 3 jobs and trains VERY fast.
I'd say that BaMs are one of the best jobs made by Nexon, because I also note that they hardly need rebalancing.
In the meantime, can I check with everyone whether they still see Misses at MY mobs? My 4th job BaM will still miss at MY mobs (prequest for Scar), feels to me as if they used weapon accuracy to proc for hit/miss ._.

Are magicians using P. accuracy instead of M. accuracy?
At level 90, with 568 M. acc and 102 P. acc, I still miss on Selkie Jr. while using Heal or SR.
Note that Selkie Jr. have an evasion of 324. Also note that I have bless making my M. acc 628 and my P. acc 162.
My hit rate calculated with P. acc (94%) instead of M. acc (100%) seems to match the rate of misses I am getting.
Does anyone have further.. input/advice?

My "input" is that I missed Selkie Jr. And Slimy even at level 104 on my I/L.
Nexon seriously messed up those monsters. -_-

Actually it appears that the client is using physical accuracy even if you're a magician/using a magic skill/wielding a wand or staff.

So all you F/P Mages out there, what's a good 4th job skill build post-Jump?
So far I'm lvl 131 with maxed Paralyze, 1 on Mist Eruption and 1 on Meteor Shower.
I have 7 points waiting to be used up.

It is, but I just don't think it's one of those skills to max right away. Plus, it has a 10 second cooldown, so it's not really that well spammable.

Arcane Aim and Master Magic are both good choices unless you can reach another level of XHKO with Mist Eruption by adding points to it.

Explosion's delay was changed. It is now 1020ms Normal (6) and does not appear to be affected by weapon speed, only Magic Booster (and Yellow Aura and Speed Infusion).
I believe it used to be somewhere around ~1200~1300ms, maybe higher, definitely nowhere near as fast as 1020ms, and was detrimentally affected by most Staves as they were slower than Normal (6).
Base damage of 475.5%/s at level 1 and 568.6%/s per monster at maxed compared to Fire Arrow's 391%/s per monster, finally beating it in damage.
With Maxed Teleport Mastery, it does 872.2%/s at level 1 and 977.8%/s compared to Fire Arrow's 861.%/s, still beating it.
This makes Explosion actually useful to some degree now.

Tried looking around, and I haven't seen this answered, maybe I missed it.
As far as mastery books and sp of skills being removed, and the new ones being put in for f/p's, do Arcane Aim, and Mist Eruption replace Mana Reflection and Fire Demon, thus getting their SP and Mastery Level with the patch, or do they have their own seperate ID's entirely. Same for the books, do the FD or MR books become either of those skills' mastery books?
I know for Hero's, Achilles SP and Mastery, goes straight into Advanced Final Attack, so I'm just wondering if it's the same in these cases. I assume for FD, that it's not the same, since the skill does still exist.

How do Elemental Staff weapons interact with Battle Mages? Aka, does the 75% damage on attacks not of the matching element affect a BaM, since they're not tied to any element?
