Rainbows banned at Mississauga Catholic school

No rainbows allowed?

Now this is just silly. Rainbows actually have a meaning in the Bible as well, so this is... well, silly.

The cupcakes they made look damn well delicious too.

How can someone ban a naturally occurring object? That seems strange to me.

The better question would be, why does the government support "school" that manipulates kids, abuses them and discriminates against minorities, while trying to teach their bad morals to the kids too?

While teaching Witchcraft and Wizardry in a school instead of logic is already questionable, Freedom of Religion DOES NOT justify recurrent violation of human rights and -dignity.

Not talking about just this school, but the whole Catholic church.

From what I know/remember (according to my dad, anyways), Missisauga = 16 metric tons of Portuguese people

Portuguese people = predominantly Catholic.

This doesn't overly surprise me, but I think it's stupid all the same.

Breaking a tradition that has been around since the dawn of civilization will not be an easy task, especially when people that are particularly fearful of the future such as (many, not all) religion followers are, are against any and all forms of change. At this point, the vast majority of those supporting it do not even realize it is simply an extension of an old, mostly dead system used to control the masses long long ago that should have gone out of practice soon after. I do not even blame current religion anymore, I blame BIG religion in the early A.D. times for most of our problems in the world today; I maintain the view that we would be 1000% better as a whole if they had never existed; morally, technologically, intellectually...all aspects of our lives would be better. At this point religion is just a sad shadow clinging to its former "glory", trying to fit in with a quickly changing world and, failing at that, trying to suppress progressive thinking so it is easier for them to maintain what little control they still have, and honestly, who can blame them for trying? Those in power never want to lose that power, no matter the situation.

Not that I have any problems with people that need religion to get by in daily life, everyone has their own coping method, and I would vastly prefer that over them having a schizophrenic break from the stress of life and killing a bunch of people.

I think their message is along the lines of "hate the sin, not the sinner." In other words, while homosexuals are probably committing sins that will send them to Hell, it is not your place to hasten them there. Just as we don't catch and lynch thieves or even murderers, but rather leave the justice to the proper human authorities (in this world) and God (in the next).

However, thieves and murderers do not, as a rule, march proudly down city streets, proclaiming their pride in their activities (except in certain cities in Mexico and elsewhere ). Homosexuals, on the other hand, are trying to say that they are not sinners, and they have organizations and a flag and pride in what they are. This is something the Catholic school - and, presumably, the parents sending their children there - do not want the children exposed to.
