Why do you do this to me, Nintendo?

Also the fact of Vaati being in Skyward Sword.

Zelda made E3 for me (It always does).

It's not confirmed to be vaati and... you realise...he was in the first trailer a year ago right?

Was he? I must've missed it. lol

I liked the fact that they were flying on birds like in A Link to the Past. :o

Wow...

I want to vote Nintendo for the Troll of the Year Award.

First they show the controller, and I think... THAT'S IT? I WAS EXPECTING A NEW CONSOLE.

Then they show titles that plays with the WiiU... and they were titles the Wii were not capable of... like Battlefield 3 or Tekken...

And people keep talking about the console...

I can't tell if Nintendo won this E3... they caused chaos and confusion all over the place, though certainly it was better than what I saw from Microsoft and Sony...

The PS3 can do the same thing as the WiiU, but it was a bad concept so ...
haha
There's still time to make it different than other consoles, its just a big disappointment so far.

Nintendo should've focused on better games for the 3DS, they need it to sell and having a console that pretty much rivals their own handheld being revealed isn't a good idea.

Eh I guess I found the content more interesting than a lot of you.

I'm not gonna take advantage of the sports and other crap but I'm easily getting the majority of those titles for the 3DS. I'm definitely interested to see where they go with the WiiU. And the 'hardcore' games, I guess if you want to call them that, should be awesome on the console.

All the conferences were pretty equal playing fields, but the most content for me was Nintendo.

So no Wii games announced in depth other than Skyward Sword?

Luigis Mansion 2 looks fun though, along with Mario Kart. Anyone else see 2 Kirby logos on the screen right at the end?

NINTENDO WINS. EVERYTHING.

WiiU is taking over. <_<

The name is retarded. They can have all the 3rd party support they want, but they're going to be lagging behind, especially since it's not even coming out until 2012 and some of the games shown off are coming out soon. Honestly, Nintendo's conference was very underwhelming. I own an Xbox, this new screen isn't going to make me go out and buy this new Wii for $300+. Also, how fun is it going to be when you only have 1 of those new controllers? I'm betting they're going to be at least $100 each, there's no way they can have all that pomegranate and not be that price, and I'm not interested in spend all that money on even an extra one for a friend.

Overall, what I took out of the conference is that Mario Kart looks fun, Icarus I'm on the fence about and I want Luigi's Mansion 2.

I wouldn't go that far.

I'm still kinda confused though. The new controller looks like it's for the Wii because in the trailers it looks like the people are using wii-motes in tangent with it. Does that mean Wii U is a new console, but supports the old controller, meaning no need to buy a new controller?

Also if they do have a smash bros 3DS, i'm pretty much sold on getting a 3DS eventually. Maybe the next iteration of it instead of the original this time (whenever i get the money for the console and games >.>)

They said it uses all previous hardware in the conference. I had a 5 year old screaming in my face and saw that.

TBH I'd have to give it to sony because they had the common decency to actually show their new console (handheld) instead of just talking about the bare minimum.

I'm not even a sony fanboy or Nintendo hater (I have all 3 so despite how I may portray myself in this thread I have no general bias towards either of the big 3 companies)

The WiiU is a new console that can play wii games.
The controller lets it turn into a handheld.
Simple as that.

It's nothing very innovative, but like I said, there's a long way to go.

I got excited for the 3DS games, and of course Zelda. Gold Wii-mote Glitter

They could've named the Wii U the Nintendo Inception though, since its a console within a console Rolleyes

Which to be fair isn't a new move, seeing as the gamecube controls all worked with wii. WE can expect at least backwards compatablity with all wii games then. Dunno about GC.

Edit: also nintendo did the same thing with the wii when they first introduced it, showed the wiimote off but didn't show the console for a long time afterwards. (or the other way round, i forget, pretty sure it was the wii mote first though)

Thing is they said its a 2012 release, and if skyward sword is the only big release for wii in the next 6 months (minimum, if Wii U comes out January) then Wii is looking a little bare this year..
