It's not a MMO, so you can pick whatever ign you want.

I picked this up a couple days ago and I've been playing it a lot, it's so much fun

I want to try playing multiplayer but I'm worried I'll be a tad too laggy >:

Like Raph said, names can't be "taken". You can name your characters whatever you want.

Actually he can. Since patch 1.0.3 multiplayer is lag fest because of a bug.

I have an absolutely abysmal internet connection. I can play LoL and Maple just fine, though, so I'm sure Terraria would be fine too.

Edrich is hosting one, but hes going to reset the map tomorrow iirc, so wait until then.

Launched the game for the first time in a while, since I've been busy on maple.

Went down into my cave system, first monster I ran into was tim.

So now I've got a stylin' as all hell wizard hat.

Also meteor armor has an infinite ammo for space gun set bonus, so now I've got a character who wears just that armor, and has a space gun.

He is named

Paul Ryan, Space Cop

Dispensing Justice, one slime at a time.

This lag post 1.0.3 is ridiculous.

Taking a frigging while to connect and losing my conection every 4 mins.

I think I've hit a wall guys...

Eye of Chtulu is way too hard so I can't get the dryad so I can't buy purification powder so I can't break shadow orbs so I can't get to fight Eater of Worlds (which would be too hard anyway) so I can't get shadow scales and demonite ores so I can't forge any armor higher than gold.

Also, can't buy dynamite since I'm at almost 0 silvers...

So, I decided I wanted to drain a lake down to the underworld layer so I could get some obsidian. It's a pretty small, innocent looking lake.

Did you check if there was water down there before draining? i find it ridiculous that so much water came from a simple lake.

Btw these disconnections are making me lose some blocks... but at least im only losing dirt/sand blocks only >.>

And one last thing: let me get to the right part of the map first and build a provisional house there before trying to smash any shadow orbs to bring meteors since im going the sky bridge way >.> forget i said anything

I have 10 hearts, since anyway it's the minimum amount for eye of Chtulu to spawn.

I'm using silver armor, gold bow (with regular arrows) and some shurikens. I use a lot of potions and most of the time I can't keep up with there cooldown. The problem during the fight is these little eyes. They spawn way too fast and hit 15 damage every hit =/

Thanks a lot! The arena idea was a really good one. Got him to 400 health and died -_- But next night will be the good one!

Another thing is that the mini-eyes always come out of his pupil. If you're using a ranged weapon, always aim for there because you can hit them as they come out.

So when I'm making a character, let's say I name the character: "Matt"
So that character is Matt forever. Can I name change whenever I want? But I can make other characters if I want? How many?

Probably buying Terraria tomorrow, just wanna get this cleared up
